He recognized commercial appeal can go hand in hand with artistic merit. Wow, what a concept. I don't know who this LA Reid is as I am not in the business. Is LaFace Records rap/hip-hop oriented? Haven't those musical genres run their course? Can we get on with it, please? Artists like Beth, Keb Mo, Kelly Joe Phelps, Lyle Lovett and others, have to fight for airplay and recognition in a world where the latest by Mariah, Celine and God knows who else are anticipated with soporific acceptance.
