Agreed! I run a mailing list called no-angel which is on Onelist. Contact me if you're interested. Dot Allison is another Arista labelmate who has a great album called "Afterglow;" it came out this week. I'm mulling a mailing list for her, too. Jeez, quite a proliferation of Beth mailing lists out there, eh? Can we talk merger? :) Take care, Chris ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Sep 1999 05:23:45 -0400 From: "Chris Beckwith" Subject: Re: Beth questions VeIvetSkys@aol.com wrote: > I was wondering when Beth's new album is coming out. Jeez, Central Reservation has only been out for a few months! :) The new Beck album coming out in a few weeks will allegedly have a Beth collaboration on it. Can't wait! > I really want her b-sides. Is anyone willing to record some for me or telling > me where I can find them? Many of her singles are still in print. Some of her older singles have been reissued in Australia and should be readily available on import. Dot used to be the lead singer of One Dove, who managed to produce one Awesome album called "Morning Dove White" and then collapse... If you like Beth's Trip-hop stuff, listen to this album. It comes from the Sabres of Paradise stable who produced some of Beth's first album (Trailer Park), so you might find it refreshing.... > Connors, Tom wrote: > > > Has anyone heard of Dido? > > > > She is pretty good... > > Agreed! First, I am sure I heard Central Reservation in the Queen Vic. Maybe it was in the caf too?? haven't heard it on Radio yet though :-( Second, about the remix's of CR on the single. I think they're not much cop, could have done better on my Casio. It would have been cool if the Chemicals did it. Third, Does anyone on this list live in Bournemouth, and does not have a ticket, or would like to travel to the Southampton gig with me. I'll be at Uni there next week. I wonder if this means that she'll be on TOTP on Friday? I didn't buy it because the only price in any of my local shops was £3-99, and I'm damned if I want to pay that price for 'Club Remixes'. Personally, I can't think of any song by any artist that has been improved by a 'Club Remix', no matter who has done it. What did you pay for it? No doubt Northamptonshire will prove to be the most expensive place in the country (Jeez - I'm sounding like Unlucky Alf).
