Someone asked about Beth signing autographs on her Lilith dates -- I saw her at the Vancouver concert and she signed for a long, long, time; as long as there were fans asking, Beth was obliging; she signed my TSUNAMI/Mosaic t-shirt; the weather was brilliant, as was Beth and her band (she worked the Beatles' Norwegian Wood into the middle of a version of Someone's Daughter) -- though, as the CD NOW review of this show noted, she was "sadly and wrongly given a too-brief 20 minutes on the second stage" her music and energy needs to flow over the course of an hour or two... here's to her upcoming solo tour! cheers, Adrian ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 15:49:54 +0000 (GMT) From: William Chinda Subject: Re: Videos Interesting... from the 30 second snippet, it seems that Beth is hanging from the side of a bus (train?) while it's raining (I wasn't sure about this part, but it looks like her hair's really wet). It's also filmed in black & white. - --- GloryBox82@aol.com wrote: > On the MTV site they have the video for "Touch Me > With Your Love." Thanks for the alternate tab -- next time I forget my capo I will have hope! You're brilliant. :) I have actaully got something different. But i like your way much better. The way I have been playing it has an odd story behind it. I was just stuffing around trying to make something up on the guitar and came up with this bar that sounded great. So I put it on tape... Months later I bought Central Reservation (the australiasian version with best bits & precious maybe) and heard Best Bits (for the first time) and flipped out when I realised it was exactly like the bit i had put on tape. It was almost like I channelled Beth! Like I was destined to be a Beth lover just months later! Anyway, my way of doing it does not use a Capo. As a result it doesn't sound as good. But it sounded spot on until I saw your version with the Capo on 2. My version would be good if you were lost in the jungle with no Capo. anyhoooo here 'tis: intro+verse: E9 D9 - -------------0---------------------0------------ - -------------7---------------------5------------ - ------------------------------------------------- - -------------------- 6 \ 4----------------4------ - ----7-------------------5----------------------- - ------------------------------------------------- 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + chorus: whack away with normal E & D for 8 bars. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 18:04:23 +0100 From: "Angerica" Subject: gigs in UK hey people, is anybody else going to the london gig for beth? getting tix was piss easy, theres LOADS left and the bloke said that they weren't selling too well either. I didn't realise that the seats wre unreserved so i guess you have to turn up real early and join in the human scramble (bit optimistic since nobodys buying but early days yet) of trying to get a good seat....oh well... angela ; ) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 11:40:11 PDT From: "Chelsea" Subject: Beth live -- fashion? You're lucky - I've been to 2 Beth concerts and never got anything signed. And both times I narrowly missed meeting her on the street beforehand! Bad timing on my part, I guess. The concerts themselves were about an hour and 45 min - but trust me, it was not long enough! Isn't that Norwegian Wood bit in Someone's Daughter brilliant?? I loved it. Also, for anyone who's seen her live, I'd be interested to know what she was wearing. Yeah, I know, it's totally unrelated to music, but I like how she dresses. :) At the show in DC she was wearing Diesel jeans, a cropped red tank top and a matching cardigan, and canvas sneakers - totally casual, laid back, I don't think she was even wearing make-up. Then in Pittsburgh she wore a short pink slip dress, a light green scarf on her head, the same sneakers, and body glitter all over! Amazingly she totally pulled it off and looked great. Now that's fashion. :) On Thu, 15 Jul 1999 08:19:05 -0700, TSUNAMI wrote: > Someone asked about Beth signing autographs on her Lilith dates -- I saw her at the Vancouver concert and she signed for a long, > long, time; as long as there were fans asking, Beth was obliging; she signed my TSUNAMI/Mosaic t-shirt; the weather was brilliant, > as was Beth and her band (she worked the Beatles' Norwegian Wood into the middle of a version of Someone's Daughter) -- though, as > the CD NOW review of this show noted, she was "sadly and wrongly given a too-brief 20 minutes on the second stage" > > her music and energy needs to flow over the course of an hour or two... here's to her upcoming solo tour! > > cheers, Adrian > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chandler: Wa-pah!!!
