A mode is the notes that are part of the scale, we've already heard that... but if a song is in a specific mode, every instrument has to be in that mode, just like one can't expect a song to sound "right" if it has a guitar part in a minor key and a vocal line in a major key. Major and minor are modes as well... all a mode is is a different kind of scale... it just makes for unique- and uncommon-sounding scales to our ears, because modes aren't reguarly-found anymore... so it's not like there's one specific way they apply to Beth's music other than by the fact that she uses them... there's not much more to it, really. It's among the same decision as writing a song in major or minor, or in Locrian or Mixolydian. It's just part of what makes up a song. Okay, I'm all tired now. === ain't no way i lost this war and ain't no way you won _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
