Go back to silence everyone. Hassling people who don't agree with me? Overbearing? I was hardly doing that and I wasn't that. Emotion to illustrate an argument? Can't do that? Why? I'm not writing a bloody science essay? *hmmph* Okay, I think I see where this is going, here is the outline. 1 DON'T POST TO THE LIST 2 DON'T HAVE AN OPINION, UNLESS IT'S VERY VERY SUBTLE 3 BE AS BORING AS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU WRITE 4 NO EMOTION, NEVER EVER EMOTE Excellent, excellent. buh byee. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 13:58:04 +0100 From: nick.grundy@uk.ibm.com Subject: Re: australian radio station *octagonal* wrote: >I'm not writing a bloody science essay? I agree that the list should mainly be Beth stuff, but not so much that we're afraid to write things about our own lives. I was just wondering if there is anyone on this list from the Bournemouth area, if so I have a question... Is there any sort of band scene down here? especially acoustic performers, and especially female singers similar to Beth Orton/Jewel. I am totally fed up with the tacky music scene down here!!! - -Jim ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Mar 2001 14:59:25 +0930 From: *octagonal* Subject: i'm not overbearing!! :( didactic is a nicer word. Vis a vis my last email, I was having one of those lost and restless nights, Ally McBeal nearly made me cry... which doesn't say much for my emotional state.. hehe... Having said that, I'm not going to go to the bother of writing two seperate private emails when I'm on a friggin' mailing list. Beth related or not... I want vindication. So mmner. just put up with me for one more time. I think these were some highly dodgy arguments... From 6am-10pm Monday to Friday there are six people on air- 4 males, 2 females. This fluctuates all the time. Only three or so years ago it was well and truly the other way. Then Saturday night and Sunday night's shows are solo females hosts ... so I think labelling Triple J some sort of patriarchal oppressor is a bit much. But as the wonderful Baterz sings.. How is any of this relevant in the slightest way?? Are you seriously accusing Triple J of inciting pseudo-socialist tendencies, promotion of multi national companies, and racist hatred all at the same time? That's like the longest and most misdirected bow drawn in the history of the world. Sheesh... AND TRIPLE J PLAYS BETH ORTON!! AND "EWWWWWWW DAVE GRANEY" NOTHING!!
