I recently saw 'Sliding Doors' with the amazing (from a guy point of view) Gwenyth Paltrow - and in the ending credits it sounded like Beth - can anyone tell me the name of the song? - ----- Niko Wollongong, NSW Subject: Re: OT New to list - hi all - Sliding Doors On Mon, 19 Feb 2001 21:49:16 +1100, "Niko" wrote: >I recently saw 'Sliding Doors' with the amazing (from a guy point of view) >Gwenyth Paltrow - and in the ending credits it sounded like Beth - can >anyone tell me the name of the song? From memory I think that was Dido singing "Thank You". That song is getting some airplay on TripleJ and her single, "Here With Me" is currently on the Australian charts. Both tracks are on her recently released album, "No Angel" which is a very pleasant listen. As well as the ones you have, there are: It Is This I Am I Find Bullet Best Bit (2 Versions) Skimming Stones Dolphins Lean On Me I Love How You Love Me Precious Maybe These all feature on singles or the Best Bit EP, and many of them are covers. There are also reworkings (live, acoustic, remix, instrumental etc) of: Stars All Seem To Weep Central Reservation Touch Me With Your Love Galaxy Of Emptiness And I have a radio recording of her doing Joni Mitchell's 'River'. I've sent this to the list, as I am interested to see if there's anything I've missed out on. Let me know. And it's good how she's got this big break all of a sudden, but it's sad that a lot of people are only listening to her because she is now "cool" after featuring in Eminem's song. It's like they are afraid to listen to someone that their friends don't know of or something. Sums up the problems with the UK charts really, they did used to be better than this didn't they? Adam You're really an ugly girl, but I like the way you play. ----- Original Message ----- From: KUO-CHIEH LIANG To: Niko Cc: Sent: Monday, February 19, 2001 4:33 PM Subject: Re: New to list - hi all - Sliding Doors > yeah its dido, you know the one featured in Stan by eminem it is called > thank you. (coldplay and david gray are two examples). i don't care who goes to the shows, but when i'm stuck behind some idiot who talks the whole time until the one song they know starts playing i get pissed, knowwhatimean? any other thoughts/rants on this? kathleen ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Feb 2001 00:39:30 EST From: NorthernSoul79@aol.com Subject: river >And I have a radio recording of her doing Joni Mitchell's 'River'. >I've sent this to the list, as I am interested to see if there's anything >I've missed out on. no way. that's one of my favorite songs- i didn't know she did a version of it. is there anywhere i can hear that? kathleen ------------------------------ End of trailer-park-digest V2 #17 *********************************
