From the NME: http://www.nme.com/newsdesk/20000822234404.html "PULP premiered five new songs last night (August 22) when they played their first UK gig for more than a year at the LONDON HIGHBURY GARAGE. The gig, which was played before a sell-out crowd of 500, was announced secretly to the band's fanclub, and tickets were snapped up within hours. A few celebrities did manage to make it in, including Beth Orton, Black Box Recorder's Luke Haines and cult comedian Chris Morris." Personally, I dig Pulp in a big way and am bummed to be missing the Leeds festival this weekend. I would be interested to know what other modern groups Beth is into. We've all read about her folk influences, but what does she listen to when driving fast in her car? Also from the NME is an electronic postcard of Beth for V2000: http://www.nme.com/cgi-bin/ecard.cgi? category=V2000&card=BethOrtonV2000&extension=jpg As for the V2000 video segments, I didn't see one for Beth. That review really was lovely, though. I'm ready to see another US Beth tour! Beth was at one of the London Radiohead gigs a couple of months back, hanging out with the band backstage apparently.
