This one was her own show, with a 4-man band, mostly acoustic stuff. One of the guys in the band were borrowed from Beck's band, I wonder if his name was Tim Bird (he played a trumpet kind of a thing and some percussion). The venue, Voxhall, may take some 400 persons, unfortunately there were no more than 200 persons (no problems to get in the first row if one wanted to do that. Yes, I did try that :). Beth looked a bit nervous in the beginning of the show, but the first few songs got a great response from the audience, and after that she was clearly more relaxed. Sound was excellent during the show, and the lightshow was nice and fit very well into the mood of music. She looked gorgeous, with a new hair style (at least I haven't seen that before). The dress she was wearing kept falling off from her shoulders, which made her play embarrassed all evening, quite funny. She also had a funny, acrobatic way of bowing at the end of songs thanking for applauses (she proudly presented a couple of variants of that). She performed 3 new songs, and one which I didn't recognize (that may or may not have been a new song, she did not present that specifically). The new songs sounded quite good, although a bit unpolished. One of the new songs was a duet with the guy from Becks band, a slow jazzy kind of a thing. In total she played some 80 minutes, including a 4-song encore (sorry I did not write down any song names). In overall, very charming and good sounding performance, I enjoyed it a lot. And did I mention she looked gorgeous? :) She performed the day after in Copenhagen with Beck, anyone who attended that show? I would also like to hear if anyone attended to the Swedish shows (and if the Swedish radio P3 were recording any of these?). /Markku - -- Markku Peltonen mailto:markku.peltonen@medfak.gu.se Bootleg trading: http://redrival.com/quoscdr/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Mar 2000 12:49:05 +0800 From: Yap Kim Soon Subject: BBC2 Nature Boy Soundtrack Hi, This is what I got from a surfer to my site.
