LL Yeah, it's on there allright. I work in a music store, and I made sure it was on there, as it was reported to be. Was the movie any good? More importantly, did the song fit the scene? aj. now playing: Echo and the Bunnymen "What are you Going to Do With Your Life?" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 02 Mar 2000 09:23:59 -0600 From: "amber elias" Subject: Re: stars all seem to weep >i saw "the next best thing" -the madonna movie, last night...and much to >my enjoyment...stars all seem to weep, began to play. i dont anything >about the soundtrack. they played quite a bit though...so i would think it >is on it. yes, it is on the soundtrack..i've been meaning to say something but work has kept me too busy:) *amber* *********************************** chickclick.com http://www.chickclick.com girl sites that don't fake it. http://www.chickmail.com sign up for your free email. http://www.chickshops.com boutique shopping from chickclick.com *********************************** ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 12:24:21 -0500 From: "Andrea" Subject: Re: stars all seem to weep Speaking of soundtracks, (according to www.inkblot.com)Beth's also slated to be on the "Here on Earth" soundtrack. Looks to be very good as Tori Amos and my favourite British band, the Stereophonics are also on it. (Sorry if someone's mentioned this already). LL, how is 'The Next Best Thing"? I looove Rupert Everette! - - signing off again...andrea ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 14:01:18 -0500 (EST) From: loki Subject: Re: stars all seem to weep Aren't the Stereophonics more welsh than brit? i AM really excited about Here on Earth- i thought i saw the add yesterday in the voice- speaking of welsh bands, gorky's zygotic mynci are going to be playing at Maxwell's in Hoboken (31st?) is anyone going? Also, I never wrote about what happened, but I suppose it's healthy to talk about my trauma... I went to see Beth and Beck at radio city, and while YES it was the totally realization of a childhood dream (read- Annie) it was FAR better because who really wants to see the Christmas Spectacular anyway- and I met Joaquin Phoenix- BUT I ONLY GOT TO HEAR BETH SING TWO SONGS!!! For some reason her set began far before the theater was filled, and even by the time I got in and her set was practically done it was still relatively empty...did anyone else notice this? personally? I was heartbroken. lovey-dovey, ginna On Thu, 2 Mar 2000, Andrea wrote: > Speaking of soundtracks, (according to www.inkblot.com)Beth's also slated > to be on the "Here on Earth" soundtrack. Sorry, I've been away from this for some time, but I'm back!!! Anyway, I just saw the Beck ad in this week's SF Weekly for his upcoming show at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium, BUT no signs of Beth as a supporting act. What gives? The supporting acts looks like Cafe Tacuba. Here's the details: Beck plus special guest Cafe Tacuba May 2. 8PM @ Billy Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco Tickets go on sale this Sunday at 10am I admit, I'm not much of a Beck fan and would only go if Beth was playing due to my finances. So, I'd appreciate it if someone would confirm. Btw, does anyone on this list have a spare ticket for Fiona Apple at the Warfield Theatre later this month??? Thanks Cheers, Matt ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 16:20:41 -0500 From: "Connors, Tom" Subject: RE: Where's Beth??? :( Pollstar does not have any USA dates for Beth, but lots of European dates. Check it out at: http://www.pollstar.com/tour/an.cgi?Artist=Beth+Orton&Date_From=&Date_To=&St artSearch.x=44&StartSearch.y=11 Speaking of Fiona Apple, here is something from March 2 USA Today Sullen girl Apple runs out of juice Fiona Apple stunned a sold-out audience at New York's Roseland nightspot Tuesday night by bursting into tears several times, cursing constantly and ending the show midsong. According to concertgoers, the doe-eyed, confessional singer/songwriter complained about the ballroom's sound system, members of the audience, her band and rock critics. After stopping several times during the performance and forgetting lyrics, Apple, 22, tearfully apologized and promised to perform again free. Then she announced a five-minute break and left the ballroom stage. About 20 minutes later, the audience was told the show was canceled. "Everyone was digging her until she got too freaky," says devoted fan Clinton Love, 17, of New York, who at one point called out "We'll sing for you, Fiona," when it appeared the singer could not continue. "Being crazy is fine, but don't overdo it and leave us hanging." No one at Roseland, show promoter Delsener/Slater or Epic Records, Apple's label, would comment. Apple's personal publicist, Luke Burland, did not return repeated phone calls. Apple is known for her troubled past and the raw emotions of her songs but had espoused a happier, more positive outlook in recent interviews. > -----Original Message----- > From: Puckwizrd@aol.com [SMTP:Puckwizrd@aol.com] > Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2000 3:04 PM > To: trailer-park@smoe.org > Subject: Where's Beth??? :( > > Hey Trailparkers... > > Sorry, I've been away from this for some time, but I'm back!!! > > Anyway, I just saw the Beck ad in this week's SF Weekly for his upcoming > show > at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium, BUT no signs of Beth as a > supporting > act.
