I've not heard of the onelist list either but it does seems counter-productive that an artist with a limited fan base like Beth's would have three lists. Surely it would make sense to merge all three lists but I guess that's up to the moderators/owners to decide. How 'bout it guys? I know smoe.org doesn't appreciate copyrighted material being posted to the list so I've put the article online at http://members.xoom.com/g_limbo/misc/rave.htm Nothing astonishing in the interview but she does talk a little about songs for the next album. Also, for anyone wondering what the Limited Australian Tour Edition of the "Central Reservation" album looks like (it may be on one of the website's but I haven't checked) there's a scan at http://members.xoom.com/g_limbo/misc/rave_bocr.jpg The scan's not terribly good as it comes from a magazine advert - -- I wasn't going to buy the album again just to get two remixes of dubious quality so it's the best I could do. Beth is part of this years festival and in addition is playing solo gigs in Sydney and Melbourne. Here's the setlist for the Gold Coast show: 1. Galaxy Of Emptiness 2. Best Bit 3. Pass In Time 4. Stolen Car 5. She Cries Your Name 6. [new song] 7. Someone's Daughter 8. Touch Me With Your Love "Galaxy of Emptiness" seemed a bit shakey at the beginning and the same was certainly true for "She Cries Your Name" where the band was all over the place at the start. The rest of the set was verrry good (even with the *slight* audio problem most noticeable during "Stolen Car" -- part of the speaker bank was only working intermittently). The new song was a slow one and was fairly good. I couldn't quite pick up the chorus for a title -- sounded something like "So much b?????". Anyone able to identify the proper title from this scanty info? Beth told a joke about a lobster walking into a bar (or something like that) but I missed the punchline. Anyone know what it was? There was a big crowd to see Beth start playing but by the end quite a few had left (probably to see Blink 182 on the main stage). All in all it was a fine performance if, as expected, a little short (only 41 minutes!!). I'm very envious of the Sydney and Melbourne people who'll have an opportunity to see Beth perform a full set indoors where her voice should sound amazingly good. And now a couple of questions for anyone who was also at the Gold Coast or one of the other Australian gigs: Beth suggested in an interview in Rave magazine that she might sing with The Chemical Brothers. Did she? Did anyone see any Beth merchandise on sale? I had a look for a t-shirt but couldn't find anything. And now something completely off-topic which might only mean anything to the Aussies on the list: After Beth's set I rushed over to another stage to catch the last little bit of Josh Abrahams & Amiel Daemion's performance. Now, Josh Abrahams does nothing for me but after hearing Amiel on tracks like "Addicted To Bass" and "Headroom" I wondered if she could sound as good live. Well, she was awesome and I'm very much looking forward to her first album later this year and hoping Josh Abrahams involvement doesn't spoil it. During both shows, Beth busted out with the following joke: A Polo walks into a bar and starts going on about himself. "Yeah, I'm the hardest sweet in town. . ." and on and on. A few minutes later, a locket comes through the door and the Polo makes a line for the lou. The Locket walks up to the bar and enjoys himself a lager while the Polo sits cowering in the toilet. After the Locket finishes his beer, he leaves. A few minutes later the Polo comes out of the closet and goes back up to the bar. A guy next to him remarks, "Hey, I heard you going on and on about how you're the hardest sweet in town. What gives?" "Yeah, I _am_ the hardest sweet in town," replied the Polo, "but that Locket- HE'S MENTHOL!" Sad that I was back in Dallas for a couple weeks before I figured it out. I don't understand it myself but a member of trailer-park started both the other lists, so what can you say? I hate to say it, but it's become so easy to start a mailing list that these divisions are pretty much inevitable. For my part, I'd shut down trailer-park today if I could be assured that this balkanisation of Beth's fan base would end once and for all. I shut down my Bellatrix list today because a member from my list started his own which is thriving. Honest, folks, my only interest is in providing a forum for Beth fans, not ruling my little corner of the world!
