I guess there's no need to bring this up for discussion again, but I think in all fairness, Tom wasn't THE Squirrel Nut Zippers. He did add some to the band, but I feel it's better without him. Sorry. Don't hate me. I even bought his album when it was first announced. I think that album was rather poor, too. Sorry. Don't hate me. I guess it all comes down to personalities. My personality prefers Jimbo, Katherine, Chris, Andrew etc. than Tom. AND, who said the band was beginning a downfall? That could be debated as well. I recently got Bedlam Ballroom from the library (i never bought it because of all the bad reviews). Honestly, I like some of the material a lot. It may be different than before, but what's wrong with that? Perenial Favorites dabbled in different styles as well, and was still a great album. BB may not be as good as previous albums, but I still think it's good. If you want to talk about a poor album, just listen to Christmas Caravan!!! Now that SUCKED. Sorry. I know many of you will disagree with that too--I'm just stirring up controversy =) I don't like the idea of keeping a band in a box. People grow and change. I can't expect SNZ to be the same as they were in 1994. I'm certainly not. Some singers, such as Tori Amos, I haven't been able to grow with (can't get into her recent stuff), but I think that I'm still growing with SNZ. Anyway, just misc. babble. Of course, this is all just my opinion. No intention of bashing anyone elses opinion. Sincerely; Daniel J. They have a new 6 song disc floating around somewhere, but it is not something they released publicly. - -Mike ------------------------------ End of the-landing-digest V4 #26 ********************************
