Has anyone else gone to this website and tried to read this essay? Here's what happened when I tried it. The link took me right to the home page so I put in a search for "bedlam ballroom". It showed me a bunch of stories about other crap, but the one I was looking for was in the middle somewhere. So I click on it and it takes me right back to the home page. I did this a couple times before I realized that they wanted me to become a member before they showed me anything. So I signed up, but not before they made me pick a topic to subscribe to. Just to get to the end of the process I picked general rock under the heading of music. Then when I was all done I went back to search for bedlam ballroom again. I got to the link to the "alleged" essay and clicked on it, but instead of showing me what someone wrote about bedlam ballroom, I kept getting sent to "my themes" and it shows me a bunch of things about general rock that I don't care about written by a bunch of people I don't care about. To make a long story short (too late) Emily or Gregg or whoever, I didn't get to read what ever the hell it was you wrote about bedlam balroom. Maybe I just don't know how to navigate around this particular site, or maybe it has problems, but if you could send me a copy of what you wrote I would be more than happy to comment on it. I'm one of the people that likes the new album, by the way, if anyone's keeping score. Yahoo! HOWEVER, if you are going to buy it, look for the "LIMITED EDITION" version -- the cover is animated (with that move-back-and-forth-and-it-moves kind of animation) and it's quite cool. there's a lot of good music out there these days. "bedlam ballroom" is not included here. Yakov. Trombonist, "Kap'n Klezmer and the Klez Kadets" http://www.kobyland.com KLEZMER -- new section! "It's just that you have all these things, the commodification of klezmer, the 'ethnic flavor of the month,' this being 'more traditional' than that, you have all these issues that you know they're there and it's all true. What seems like the only healthy thing to do is just not even think about it, and just make the best music. What else can you do, ultimately?" - Frank London ------------------------------ End of the-landing-digest V4 #3 *******************************
