Hey Womboid... they're not even close to rich... did you see their houses on the Hot ECD? Sometimes it's amazing to hear others point of viess, especially drastic ones! I know Bedlam ballroom won't be one of my favorites, but when it comes to the first three Zippers albums, not much comapares!!! The Inevitable is amazing, as is Hot, as is Perrenial Favorites! In my book, they are EQUALLY AMAZING!!! I am just blown away by them when I hear them. In my opinion, the Christmas album stunk, and Samsara still hasn't grown on me (And I recieved that one early on.), but to call all the zippers albums but The Inevitable crap goes farther than even I go! =) Katharine's voice is wonderful in my opinion. I don't find it annoying in the least, but there comes I time when I just have to resign to the fact that I have to respect others opinions. I don't know why this particular person remains on the list? If every album since The Inevitable sucks, than my goodness get off the list! I can't remember the last time we even talked about the Inevitable, so what is keeping you on the list? I don't say that in a mean way, because I try to be congenial, but this list seems to hold nothing for you but discussions on bad music. So anyway.... Thanks for the concert review Shawn (or Shaun). Too bad I couldn't be at that one, but I couldn't possibly make it this time. I'm wondering what's up with Reese? Maybe he got his cocky butt kicked out of the band!!!! Someone needs to ask at the next concert. Of course, he played a mean piano!!!! Anyway, that's it for me. Sincerely; Daniel J. I never called Hot "crap." In fact, not that anyone really cares about my opinion anymore, it is a phenomenal cd as is Roasted Right. However, i think that the SNZ have been, since Hot, going in the wrong musical direction. Plus, i think that they have been living quite well since Hot. They don't need large houses to be "rich." Let's keep this in perspective. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Oct 2000 17:47:30 EDT From: BlowRedBlow@aol.com Subject: Re: tom vs. jim Well... to put my two cents in, I love Tom. We got to hang out for a weekend, and I think he is the best, and so's his band. As far as I'm concerned, he WAS the Zippers. Now I look at them as a cool new band.. but nothing in comparison. THat being said, I am still looking forward to their show coming up in an hour or two :-) - -Mike ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Oct 2000 14:47:18 -0700 (PDT) From: Shaun Smakal Subject: Here you go! This is a Squirrel Nut Zippers mailing list, availible in digest form. That means that instead of getting a whole bunch of loose e-mail throughout the day from fellow SNZ fans, you can just get this list once a day. This list was inspired by the wonderful Listbot list that Matt Mitchell hosted through his website (http://www.squirrelnutzippers.com). It's not in competition with that list, but I hope that many of the friends I made through there will join me here. For the most part, I hope that all of our discussion on the list will somehow be Zipper related. Since the Zippers are influenced by so many different kinds of music, and since most of the fans have a wide musical taste, it shouldn't be hard to come up with some content in your messages about the Squirrel Nut Zippers. For now, off-topic posts will be accepted, but please keep them to a minimum. When the Zippers return from their hiatus I will begin to crack down on way off-topic posts. A person who continually posts about non-Zipper related things will be warned, and if such posting continues, will be removed from the list. An example of an on-topic post: Today after school my friends and I went swing dancing. it was so much fun! An example of an off-topic post: Today after school my friends and I went to the mall. it was so much fun! BINARY FILES: This server does NOT support binary (picture, document, etc.) files and attaching a file to your post is prohibited. A binary file can crash another list member's computer, contain a virus, or simply be annoying to others. Posting of a binary file will get you promptly booted from the list. REPLYING: To reply to a message from the DIGEST form of The Landing, you can either 1) compose new mail, sending it to the-landing@smoe.org, and refer to the post which you are replying to 2) hit "reply" and then DELETE ALL UNNECESSARY TEXT before typing your reply beneath the original post. DO NOT RE-SEND THE WHOLE DIGEST. The first and second time you do it will get you a warning. The third time you re-send a complete digest, you will be removed from the list. To reply to mail in the LOOSE MAIL form of The Landing, you must make sure that your reply is sent to "the-landing@smoe.org" and not to the sender if you want it to appear as part of the list. If you want to reply just to the sender, please be sure to correct the address.
