Rejoice! Something cool: I got "Samasara" finally. I have a policy of never paying more than $15 for a CD after shipping and before taxes. From the web site it would've cost over $17. Numbers and signatures mean little to me (the sigs I got from SNZ when I met them is a different story, as this reminds me of a cool experience in my life). I forgot about Tom M. for a while and a few weeks ago I spotted Samasara for $14.95. *** Not bad! All in all a nice mix of pre-swing with modern flavors and a little exotica as well. "Samasara" is a song that's begging so hard to be remixed. Dust Bros., take note! But this guy swings hard -- I really wish he'd make a collection of 12 danceables for us swingers. "Remember" kicks ass. Is the quartet on any other recordings? Something else cool, but OT, but related to my last thought: I was just in Pittsburgh visiting my dad. The swing dance scene there is awesome. I danced four times in six days! The Pittsburgh airport kicks ass. (But Chicago-O'Hare is cooler!) I bought four CDs with the $20 I brought (used; I told you, I like my CDs *cheap!*): Spiro Gyra (so far all I can get from it is slightly-harder-than-elevator-music jazz but it was $2.50 so I took a chance), The Best of Oingo Boingo Something for Jess: It says in your review that you scratched your copy of "Rosetta" is scratched. Right now it's bidding at $1.04 -- http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=387898860 . (In return, you can hook me up with a cheap "Hot," the only SNZ CD from which I didn't make MP3s, which I lost outright! ;P) Be nice and let's not start any bidding wars, folks! Something strange: I was reading http://www.personal.kent.edu/~jbrandt/store/records.html and listening to MP3s (of stuff I own, of course) and the fish at the bottom was moving exactly in time with the song! (I was listening to The Hot Head Swing Band which now calls itself Hot Head Fiasco ~ http://www.hotheadfiasco.com ) Whoa... - - Peter, commander and the leader Statler: They should revive "The Muppet Show." Waldorf: But Jim Henson's dead! Statler: Then they should revive HIM! http://www.geocities.com/pdestructo - Rare Cartoon Network MP3s ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2000 20:33:14 -0400 From: "Koby C." I bought four CDs with the $20 I brought (used; I told you, I like my CDs *cheap!*): Spiro Gyra / 20/20 (so far all I can get from it is slightly-harder-than-elevator-music jazz but it was $2.50 so I took a chance), The Best of Oingo Boingo (80's rock band fronted by film composer extraordinare Danny Elfman), Chick Corea's Electric Band / Eye of the Beholder (wow! CC kicks ass!) and Meat Puppets / No Joke (another $2.50 CD; a group I used to like and now find out I still do). Don't you feel better now? I'm sure of it. - - Peter, commander and the leader MPAA Lawyer: So Bull Finch and Crypton and whoever people sign, are you sure those people aren't you? Eric Corley: I'm very sure, very sure. http://www.geocities.com/pdestructo - Rare Cartoon Network MP3s ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Jul 2000 00:27:55 EDT From: LitLpish9@aol.com Subject: Re: the-landing-digest V3 #111 In a message dated 07/25/2000 3:09:54 AM Central Daylight Time, owner-the-landing-digest@smoe.org writes: << Andrew SMILED???
