It had great potential, but was (in my opinion) ruined by one or two incredibly stupid, irrelevant, pointless parts. The most rediculous part was a "nymphomaniac" section of the movie. I found it disgunstingly stupid and damaging to the movies overall effect. Sex may sell movies, but I don't believe it makes QUALITY movies. All it seems to do is clutter up movies with pointless crap. The best movies I know of contain no sex at all. Romance, yes, but not sex. BUT, the good parts of the Red Violin were VERY good. Other than the nympho part and the ending which I didn't care for, it was an excellent movie. Anyway, there's my 2 cents.
