I'm waiting for AOL to fritz out on me again, so I'm going to keep this address. Anyway, I was listening to a local freeform radio station the other day (WFMU 91.1 for all of you in NY and NJ) and they had a group called the Tin Hat Trio on. Very Andrew Bird-ish stuff, with more of a gypsy orchestral feel. Definitely eclectic and definitely "zipperific" but in no way do they appreciate the bare bones recording habits shown by our friends Mathus and Bird. Whatever, whatever... these guys (and one girl) have what it takes. I suggest you check 'em out. Still no news from the Gypsy Jazz band out of London. I hope those blokes didn't lose my Email or else I will have to go back and hunt them down. Cheers! Philip PS - I got a new Bix Beiderbecke compilation on Vinyl that has two songs that were also on the Newton Boys soundtrack, which was worked on by Guy Forsyth, a sometime companion of the Zippers... ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 May 2000 20:10:32 -0400 From: DawnC@PETA-Online.org Subject: RE: the-landing-digest V3 #81 Tin Hat Trio is fantastic. The new album, Helium, is all instrumental save for the last song which has Tom Waits on vocals. Beautiful stuff. =dc= > -----Original Message----- > From: Philip Silva [SMTP:twojoplins2@hotmail.com] > Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2000 7:57 PM > To: the-landing@smoe.org > Subject: Re: the-landing-digest V3 #81 > > > Hello All > Just got back from a bout with the Chernobyl Virus.
