I just got home from the Q6 show at the hot house. I'm a little tired, so bear with me! The opener was a band called Peking Turtle. Totally awesome. The singer for that put so much feeling into the songs, that you really got into them. SOme of it was real jazzy, and some was more funk. Overall awesome! I will be ordering thier cd as soon as I get the money to! Their website is: www.futurarecords.com Q6 went on, and were awesome as ever! Andrew was feeling a little under the weather, so he was all bundled up in a sweater and a scarf. They sang a whole buch of songs including the Oscar song (the actual title escapes me in my half asleep condition), Control Freak, Mope, Please Don't Tease, and many many more. If you all go and purchase Jazz Times Magazine, there is supposed to be an artical about them! :) They played two sets, no encore, though. Kevin's story was quite short compared to the other two I have heard. It was about sitting on his dad's lap and the trouble it has caused him, especially when his dad was driving. Anywho, he was real hard to hear during storytime, because the sound girl didn't turn down the sax mics... but oh well.... that's life, right? During Colin's spanish song, one of his guitar strings broke, so he played basically the whole thing with no middle string. There's gonna be a Q6 shoe somewhere in Roger's Park next thursday. Probably 21 and over, but sometimes there's ways around that! :) *laura* ------------------------------ End of the-landing-digest V3 #50 ********************************
