Still here. Je's sound has really taken off this year! Hey Jess, did my tape get through yet? I just wanted to make sure because i've been having a lot of bad luck with mail recently. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 21:39:18 -0500 From: mfisken Subject: SNZ live music site up I am very pleased to announce that the first ever website dedicated to the distribution of live (and legal!) music by the Squirrel Nut Zippers is online. The address is http://lifenine.com/snz/ There is only one show up now, partly because of limited space on my dedicated server, but also because we want to test the site to make sure it works well before loading on all the music. Look for at least another show or two in the coming days and hopefully the whole collection (10-15 shows) will be up and ready for download I would hope before Feb 1. Unfortunately, this semester my school work will have to take precedence over my various projects (so I don't get kicked out :), but I am very dedicated to getting this up and running so y'all can enjoy the shows. I'll try my best to make good progress and with luck I'll complete the conversions and posting of music in the next couple of weeks. I won't send a letter every time we update the site, so you'll just have to check back every couple of days and see what's new. Finally, the *hugest* mad props go out to Jess for letting me borrow her tape collection and to David for writing the actual webpage. Be sure to thank them if you like the site. There is no way that this site would look nearly as good or would have so much to offer if it weren't for the two of them. Thank you so much. signing off, Matt ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 19:09:05 -0800 (PST) From: Shaun Smakal Subject: Re: SNZ live music site up SCHWEET! kicks @$$!! just one thing... anybody got the Viper room performance of "Meant to Be"!?!? when was that? The idea of a plug in for "text/plain" doesn't make any sense. Or is this an Explorer-compatible site? Andy ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 22:36:51 PST From: "David Shreffler" Subject: Re: SNZ live music site up Hey all, This is David, working with Matt, we make it all happen. But Netscape hinders that. Netscape is inferior in its ability to play well with other plugins, like macromedia's flash and shochwave player. I dunno, its seems to work fine when I view the file locally (on my harddrive), but as soon as I browse to the online version, it keeps asking for the plugin to be installed (your right, the text thing is a little odd). So basically, you're right, this is a IE page, i just forgot to mention that or add a IE logo on the main page. Let me know if there is any more bugs in the page. I'm a fan of Netscape, but just happened to be using IE when I was testing the page. Use Exporer for now until this problem is resolved. Sorry about the initial confusion. Thanks.
