January 2000 Happy New Year to y'all! Our Millennium gig in Seattle was a bunch of fun, with Stu's son Caleb joining Chris Isaak onstage for an impromptu celebrity interview. Caleb was itching to jam with Chris' band, but alas, at age four, his ukelele skills weren't quite up to snuff. January in the Squirrel Camp will include a long-anticipated taping at "Sesame Street" on the 18th. We'll perform a twisted version of "Put A Lid On It" with a cadre of muppets on hand. We'll announce right here when it will be shown. Thereafter, the band will complete sessions for their forthcoming LP at North Carolina's Fidelitorium. Release of the album is slated for late Summer with a North American tour to follow. In the interim, check our new contest page here, hosted by the inimitable James "Jimbo" Mathus, and expect a new set of wearables available for sale here in the weeks to come. - -------------------------------------------- Inspired by their recent recording session in the Big Easy, the Zippers have been thinking a lot about New Orleans. Jimbo has put together a series of questions about the city's great musical heritage (and other appropriate matters). The winner will receive a t-shirt of his / her choice and will be randomly selected from the pool of correct answers. Question #1 Duke Heitger played cornet on our album "Hot." What New Orleans group does "the Duke" normally perform with and what is their regular gig on Bourbon Street? Question #2 What is the oldest tavern in New Orleans' "Vieux Carre" and what pianist regularly plays there? Send your answers along with your name and address to snutzippers@aol.com. Kindly note which question you are answering. Winner will be notified via e-mail. Question #1 answers due January 15, 2000. Question #2 answers due January 22, 2000. Good Luck and don't forget to eat your gumbo. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of the-landing-digest V3 #4 *******************************
