Don't worry, Daniel. Chances are you didn't see me at all. I came in at 8:05 with a bunch of other people, went right to the middle of the floor and talked to no one. I stayed long enough to expect a second encore. When the lights went up and the muzak came on I departed. I would have liked to hang around and rub elbows with the band, but I'm an art student and I had to get home to work on junk as finals are due before Christmas break which starts in a week and a half. Has anyone seen the film? Is his playing still featured, or was it cut out in the final edit? This is what it says for music: Original music by Marc Blitzstein (songs) David Robbins what's up? anybody know? - -Mike ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Dec 1999 14:45:37 -0600 From: Bryan Stover Subject: SNZ on Regis and K. Lee I caught the performance this morning.. the band was there for the whole show at the house band, they talked about Kat's pregnancy for a few seconds, then the band played a jumped up, dixie kinda version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas", then closed with Winter Weather, but sponsors cut in on it. Chris was dressed like Santa Claus, and they mentioned Reese Gray only being 19?? is that true? Anyhow, a little disappointed on the lack of long performances but it was cool to see them again. However, I do not think Tim Smith is as good as Tom and Ken... he does not have that full tenor tone that Tom does. Oh, well. Life goes on. - -Mike ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Dec 1999 16:17:37 EST From: Jazzbug8@aol.com Subject: Re: the-landing-digest V2 #283 would someone send me a brief review of the zippers appearance on regis and kathie lee.....all week ive been saying to myself, gotta set the vcr and what did i forget to do...it didnt hit me until 9:20(the show is on at 9 where i am), at this point i was sitting in study hall....i seriously almost cried please help me!....lol ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Dec 1999 15:19:41 PST From: "Ryan Sargent" Subject: SNZ news and Regis. Hey all, I just received this from the band and wanted to distribute it. If you know anything about this, please speak up. It's extremely important to the band! - --mammoth records "Pre-Holiday Greetings from Squirrel Nut Zippers! Thanks to all who came out to shows this week in New York and Philadelphia ... we hope you enjoyed the new lineup, a smattering of new material, and the award-winning animated video for 'Ghost of Stephen Foster'! Seems that an overzealous fan at Irving Plaza in NYC (1207) may have yanked a critical, one-of-a-kind binder full of horn charts from the stage at the end of the band's set. These are arrangements that Jimbo painstakingly scribed for our horn section, and sadly, we are without a backup copy. HELP! If anyone visiting this site has any info re the whereabouts of this folder, please email ehsfuzz@aol.com as soon as possible. No questions asked ... reward if need be ... we just need those charts back in hand! Thanks very much for any assistance." - -------------------------------------- And about the Regis + Kathy Lee show, Je sported a new look...long hair. They mentioned Kat's pregnancy, Chris was wearing a Santa suit, and once coming back from the break Rob ????? from that new Duce biggillo movie said "Wow! That's a good band!" ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Dec 1999 20:59:10 EST From: ProfPlum97@aol.com Subject: Re: Cradle Will Rock It may be that only one song (Candy Shop) is actually on the soundtrack, and that we assumed too much concerning Mr. Bird's involvement with the movie. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Dec 1999 19:14:47 PST From: "Ryan Sargent" Subject: Re: Cradle Will Rock The weird thing is that down beat magazine and a couple of other sources said Andrew and Paquita de Riverra (sp?) did the score. >It may be that only one song (Candy Shop) is actually on the >soundtrack, >and that we assumed too much concerning Mr. Bird's >involvement with the >movie. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of the-landing-digest V2 #284 *********************************
