SNZ NEWS: - --------- - - SNZippers.com is now taking your orders for CDs and t-shirts. - - Squirrel Nut Zippers have recently finished recording the majority of their forthcoming release (and fourth LP) at New Orleans' Kingsway Studios - home to sessions for the band's 1997 "Hot" album. The album is slated for release in August of 2000. Jimbo said of the new recordings: "The new album reflects our continuing dedication to ragtime rhythm, blues and swing-bop." Mixing and mastering of the LP will be completed in North Carolina in January. - - The Zippers will be performing at the December 6th premiere of Tim Robbins' new movie "Cradle Will Rock". The film stars Susan Sarandon, Bill Murray, John and Joan Cusack, and John Turturro among others. Mr. Robbins, who is a huge fan of the band, hand picked them for the premiere. - -------------------------------------------------------- Swing-bop? Bebop swings, but swing doesn't bop... it swings. I wonder what he means. And I was wondering why they called the "neo-swing" bands today swing? Swing music was nothing like what those bands play. The only band that comes close is Louis Prima's, but even that's completely different (maybe because its not repetition). The name probably comes from the same people who put Benny Goodman over Duke Ellington... which is unthinkable. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of the-landing-digest V2 #281 *********************************
