It's called "Tierra Del Fuego". I've never been able to find it but I taped a bootleg of a BOF show at Schubas off a local music site for Chicago, and during the show they give away that cd. I've looked everywhere I can think of on the internet but I can't find it. In other news, is anyone going to the Carrboro show on Dec. 16? That's about a 6 hour drive for me but I'm hoping to go. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Dec 1999 14:59:58 EST From: SNZfreak@aol.com Subject: Re: the-landing-digest V2 #277 <<"I'm a king bee, baby. My mother. She taps her toes to Bowl of Fire. She also likes to criticize Andrew for his violin playing, "Theresa, it appears he's out of tune!". Her father used to play violin and she has deemed herself an expert. 2. My two nieces, aged eight and five. We used to swim to Bowl of Fire during the summer. Also, Amanda (8) takes Suzuki violin lessons and was quite perturbed that she wasn't allowed to go see them when they came. She doesn't understand the concept of being underaged and was quite iffed that she, the violin player, was not able to see the violin band. Vanessa (5) is partial to the Squirrel Nut Zippers and I believe is the one who stole my Hot cd (I have since bought another one). I also have to mention that I've turned everybody I know on to the actor Alan Cumming. Now, whenever there is an Alan/Cabaret sighting on tv or in a magazine I'm quickly notified by phone or by yell. My two nieces practically know the Cabaret soundtrack off by heart and have incorporated Cabaret lingo into their daily speech: "Isn't she beauuutifoooool! She is hot, hot, hot." "Hellllooooo dahlings!!" Theresa. >No one else in my family really listens to the music I do (though my dad >tried to sound like he knew what he was saying when I mentioned that Samsara >arrived, and explained the story, and he was like "oh, he left the band?? >with such concern). Of course no surprises since I got an advance copy of the CD along with my HOT Gold Record 2 months ago, just the cool cover autographed and numbered by Tom. Anyway, I'm hoping to write an in-depth review of the whole album over the weekend and post it here and send to Tom & Ken. As I'm sure you all know I think this is probably the best little plate of plastic to come along since HOT, and I daresay it might be even better. The songs that grab me the most are UPTOWN STOMP, IF I HAD YOU, CAVEAT EMPTOR, and ALWAYS GET WHATS COMING. I'll tell y'all why in the full review. Time to get out the tenor sax and practice that lick from Caveat Emptor... In the mean time... Samsara II and III will probably hit the streets :-) Obviously Mammouth doesn't care much about SNZ, hopefully with the contract fulfilled the band can go on to other things. Hmm.. they have made the 4th (and final?) album for Mammouth, nothing to stop 'em from doing other stuff now on a different label, right? If Mammouth wants to pull a Perennial Faves stunt and sit on the new one forever, they'll be scooped big time.
