Getting digests that are under 20k in size is no big deal. I'm on 2 Ben Folds Five mailing lists, and the "big one" spews out 2 or 3 digests a day, most of it drivel, arguments, or questions that could be easily answered by looking at the FAQ. But Ben Folds Five is a "bigger" band than SNZ (pretty damn international) and there are over 1000 members of the list so you're going to get that. The list owner does a pretty good job with keeping the bad posters out. I'm really glad that in our down-time we can get some intelligent discussion about other bands. Seems like a few people were "enlightened"!! I don't mind what we talk about. doing the "what is in your CD player right now" sort of annoys me, but i'll cope :D Also, everyone here is VERY friendly and I like the way everyone handles themselves. I think that SNZ as a band generates positive energy. I used to be under the impression that SNZ fans have no camraderie, and i think it's still sort of true. But i think we're working quite well towards being a "group." Two of my best friends in the world I met through the BFF list!!! Just remember that when the new album comes out that we might get some new members, and we will have shows to talk about and whatnot. Be kind to your fellow Landing-ers mailboxes and don't crowd them with crap. Otherwise, crap on! :D As for Andy's gold record...man, i can't believe you paid that much. Last time i looked it was at $1025. You, sir, are a REAL fan (er, a real fan with a good job, i hope. and assets. hehe) Not to say that anyone else on the list wouldn't kill to have that. I'm very happy one of us got it. I was almost sure that some record collector would buy it, and that wouldn't make my day. While I'm sure Ken is psyched that he got so much $$ for it, i'm sure he's even more psyched that a real fan got it. You gotta take pics of yourself with it and share with the list :) Jess READ THE SHRUBBERY! http://www.theshrubbery.com *Humor, music, movies, lit, and more!* New Every Month. I was adding names to the petition, and then, this one that I had added IMed me. He said "Hey, Heard the Good News Yet?!" I was utterly befuddled. I had no idea. I checked the page...no updated. I looked at the latest e-mails from this list...nothing. Then he told me....He heard in an SNZ Chatroom that Katherine was pregnant. I am not trying to start any rumors, but wanted to know is anyone heard this also. So, if you have any info on that, mail me!! ~~G~~ GEorGE P.S. I just got my Stacy Guess and Bowl of Fire CD's in the mail....didn't get to listen yet....betta be good! WHO AM I KIDDING? Check out the self titled album, as well as solo's by a few. One of my lists is a model railroad list, geared toward a very specific focus - diesel locomotives and building accurate models of them. One of the most well-known builders and authors in the country was one of the first to join. He has an ego the size of Alaska and permanent foot-in-mouth disease. He could piss off a taxidermed hamster, and probably inadvertently. Every list he has been on, he has gotten into a self-righteous war and caused either himself to leave in a huff, or gotten others booted for bashing back at him. He's not really _that_ bad of a guy, but he is just too old to learn any new tricks I think. When my list started up, I sent some private mails to other members of the list I knew, telling them that if Mr. Big started _any_ of that kind of stuff on my list, he would be in the bit bucket as fast as I could flip the "Banned" flag on my subscriber screen. I had no intention of letting him drive away the MANY respected contributors to my list. I *knew* the word would get back to him. He has been off and on my list, but behaved himself except for once when he blew off in a huff. I ignored it, and absolutely refused to "punish" any of the otherwise reasonable people who got into it with him. In less than 48 hours, the #1 most prolific author in model railroading had re-subscribed... and apologized! At least until next time he doesn't take his medication.... >As for Andy's gold record...man, i can't believe you paid that much. Last time >i looked it was at $1025. In the mean time if anyone is dying to find out what I look like, take a look at http://www.hhcustom.com/nspmg/pogoeffect.jpg - yes that is a baritone sax (Yanagisawa B990). Yes that is a bathrobe (LL Bean). Picture the SNZ Gold Record on the wall behind me in place of that Chevy poster.
