My name is Theresa and I just joined the list yesterday. Anyways, I was on the Rykodisc website and found that we can download songs from Andrew's new album. For some stupid reason, it's not working for me. Has anybody else had this problem or have I just proven that I'm a complete computer moron? Oh yes, I was checking out the Elvis Costello information in the search box on the web site and decided to type in Andrew's name. Anyways, it turns out that we can download two tracks that aren't featured on his "Thrills" album. Is this general knowledge to the list? Take care, Theresa. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 10:11:28 PDT From: "Ryan Sargent" Subject: News By Kenny. Grandeur!" album. The real player symbol is there, however, no sounds come out! I can get sound out of the Thrills outtakes. The way that people can find them is to go to the "order" link on the Bird page and click on his name when the "Thrills" order form comes up. It will show the "Oh Grandeur" album and the "Thrills" album. Needless to say, click on "Oh Grandeur". It's funny how those two songs on the rykodisc site were squirreled away. They weren't mentioned on the Andrew Bird site. It's almost as if they did that on purpose; just to make use explore the site a little further. Well I did! I must thank Elvis C. for that.... Ok--- for those who care (apparently some of you do), I give you: The Bowl Of Fire Set Lists: July 24, Empty Bottle, Chicago [with Red (something) Belgrade and Cash Money] Vidalia Wishing for Contentment Eugene Candy Shop--original intro [Love this] T & Thorazine [aka Etchasketch Drag] Indrescreet [sic] Bound for Hell [Love & Rockets cover, with Kevin on harmonica] 50 Pieces Cock O' the Walk Stack Lee [sic] Fatal Flower Coney Island Shuffle Feetlips Rabbitt Variations FNB [? I don't remember what this was...] Beware After You've Gone Dear Old Greenland [used in the Oh, the Grandeur film] Depression Violets x2 El Cuarto w/intro - -The band was ON and bursting. Kevin's spitting up blood all over himself and repeatedly falling headlong onto the stage was truly inspiring. A cross between Buster Keaton and the junkie on the corner. They broke new ground as performers and grew as individuals. I did covet the stained and wretched t-shirt. Andrew smiled a few times. July 25, Empress Casino, Joliet [with the Chameleon Club Dancers!] Glass Figurine Candy Shop Etchasketch [aka T & Thorazine] Eugene Cock O' the Walk Vidalia [anyone understand all of this 'leg of lamb' business?] Wishing for Contentment [I'm wishing for the Grandeur] Doggin [first time I heard this one. Great.] Dora Coney Island Shuffle Glass o' Water Minor Stab [another puzzling 'leg of lamb' reference] After You've Gone Depression Songs on the list, not performed: Angle [what is this? Hmm. Maybe they did do it...] Cuarto [sad, but that's what happens when only 6 people applaud] One of the Chameleon dancers commented that Andrew was doing a Tiny Tim impression whilst plucking his violin. But don't worry, I did my crazed lunatic impression for the dancer and lit his clothes on fire. =dc= _______________________________ > Dawn Carr > People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals > Phone: 757-622-7382, ext. 612 > Fax: 757-628-0784 > Pager: 1-888-797-2947 http://www.NoFishing.Net ><(((*> ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 01:07:44 -0400 From: "theresa mccart" Subject: Re: Bowl Of Frustration Well thankyou! The crowd was thin and tame but the band was ON and the sound in the club was excellent and clean. Jimbo was actually true to the songs and sang most of the lines (unlike my delightful experiences at SNZ shows.) Exquisite performances of Memphis Bound and Got Your Picture were the highlights for me. Greg from Hobex was brilliant (gotta run out and buy) Everyone sang, Jim took a turn on drums, and I didn't recognize Stu. Huh? I swear he was replaced with a decoy or something sinister. Doesn't he have long brown wavy hair? This guy (they called him Stu---HA!) had shoulder length wavy blond hair. I didn't know who he was until he was introduced. This scrambles my brain. Here, in no particular order, are just a fraction of the songs (sorry no set list this time, and there was much I didn't know): Keep your hands off her Sittin' on top of the world Jesus was a dying bedmaker Diggin my potatoes Got your picture Memphis bound Sop my gravy Jelly roll Don't know what you've got 'till it's gone Learn to read I got mine Was anyone else there who could fill in some of what I have missed? =dc= ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 02:31:59 -0400 From: Dawn Carr Subject: RE: Computer: 1, Dawn: 0 The show at the Empty Bottle was full, but the Casino show was empty. It was down as an encore but the tepid few apparently didn't warrant one. =dc= > -----Original Message----- > From: theresa mccart [SMTP:tmccart@hawknet.ca] > Sent: Friday, July 30, 1999 1:14 AM > To: the-landing@smoe.org > Subject: Re: Computer: 1, Dawn: 0 > > Dear Dawn, > > Were there a lot of people at these concerts?
