It's hell that Grand Rapids is so far away though... And HEY! My last ditch e-mail to Permanent Records (who released the 'Immortal' soundtrack) came through! They have no idea where the producers or cast has made off to but they do know you can still rent 'Immortal' from some local Chapell Hill, NC video stores!! If anyone on this list lives in Chapell Hill can please get one and see it or copy it or whatever I will greatly appreciate it. You wouldn't have to do anything illegal just see if the Zippers are in the movie or not or if it's worth seeing at all. Help me Chapell Hill, NC, you're my only hope! Maybe the Zippers assassinated Southern Style Nuts and fled the country... Ooops. Ain't Ken touring with BFF? Maybe that's it... Smakal ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Jun 1999 13:44:17 PDT From: Ryan Sargent Subject: Jazz Squad/Dirty Dozen show. The show last night was one of the best i've been to. It was a small place to begin with, and the stage was just a platform a foot of the ground. The bands had to enter and exit through the kitchen (which I sat right next to). By sitting next to the kitchen I was able to have a conversation with Jim and Katharine before they went on. They were relly nice and were happy that we enjoyed the music so much. The Jazz Squad played a great set, and I was lucky because during the instrumental's Kat stood right next to our table. And during their last song's some of the Dirty Dozen (trumpet, Bari, tenor) came out to join Jazz Squad's horn section. They all did a horn section reprise of "Rosetta", and Kat steped in to sing at the end. After the Jazz Squad there was about a 20 min break, and Jimbo came over to talk to someone at the table next to me. The guy said how he hated this whole law suit thing and Jim said "It's all just business to them." He also called Andrew's music of hair cd 'Bowl of Hair'. At the end of Dirty Dozen's set some of Jazz Squad came to jam with them for "Mardi Gras", "Second Line", and many others. Jimbo played guitar, Stu played electric bass, and Jazz Squad's tenor & bone stepped in with the horns, all while Kat, drummer, and pianist danced in the crowd. After the show I went over and talked with Kat and got an autograph. She mentioned how she liked my shirt (homemade BOF shirt) and said " Make sure you show that to Jimbo. He'll Love it". When I was talking to Jim I mentioned how I was going to see BOF on the 26th, and he insisted (after a few drinks, a bit of a close talker) that I tell give Andrew a message. I managed to get everybody's autograph and hang with the band, so it was a great show!!!! Here is the Jazz Squad play list: 1. Rosetta. (Jim announces Kat mid song) 2. Deed I Do. 3. No Greater Love. 4. Just You, Just Me. 5. Yesterday's. 6. Blue Spot, Don't Remove Her. 7. My Old Flame. 8. That Old Feelling. 9. Sugar. 10. My Baby Just Cares For Me. 11. Badisma. 12. Love For Sale. **** 13. Now Or Never. 14. Rosetta. (with Dirty Dozen) _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. So, as we were informed, the video is completed. Does anybody know if we will ever get to see it? Does the delay have something to do with the law suit perhaps? My goodness, it's June! We were supposed to see this masterpiece in April! I Just can't wait any longer! Ahhhhhh! Well, I guess I actually *can* wait, but it would be nice if somebody has a clue as to how long this wait might be. Hope someone can help. I went to "http://come.to/squirrelnutzippers" and what did i find? PICTURES OF SNZ STOLEN FROM THE SHRUBBERY! now, every pic i put up says "property of the shrubbery" on it...and at least 2 of the pics had that part erased. ALL of the pics had NO links to the shrub on them, and were saved under different file names. No credit given to the shrub. He also has some other live pics up there. Check to see if they're yours. Now, i don't think i'm going overboard with writing him a "strict" letter...i mean, the Shrubbery is my life and we're a real paid-for publication and all...i mean, if he stole those pics from ROLLING STONE and someone from that mag happened upon them, they'd be pissed too. anyway...don't go to that site, other than to gawk. He's one of those people that has in his bio "I HATE RAP AND COUNTRY"...and i'm sorry but that just shows closed-mindedness. On top of all that, he has a whole friggin' page about "stealing"....son of a.... hmm..maybe this'll spark some conversation. or some criticism. whatever. i am having a REALLY bad day and night and all and i feel like crap lately so let me vent, eh? When I said it's understandable when you can't make out something in a song, etc., I meant to add something like "but this is rediculous." It takes a special kind of person to think they hear the words that whoever was responsible for those lyrics thinks they did.
