It seems that lots of people on this list like Ben Folds Five, so I guess i'd post this. They will be on Leno tonight (don't know if it's a repeat or not). I saw a BFF cd/vhs video packet at boarders, and it said there was home video behind the scenes studio footage of the recording of "Army" and many others...maybe Tom and Ken are in it. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. They played Gris-Gris for the first time in over a year. ABird kept going to the back of the stage when he goofed. Fun show, mostly Grandeur songs, just odd to see them in daylight. Kevin O seemed delighted that I asked about Heretic Blues (and where to get it) but didn't have any copies on hand...DRAT. =dc= > -----Original Message----- > From: Ryan Sargent [SMTP:rms573@hotmail.com] > Sent: Tuesday, June 08, 1999 1:53 PM > To: the-landing@smoe.org > Subject: BOF & BFF. > > I'm going to a Bowl Of Fire show on the 26th and will have really good > pictures for everyone to see. Tonight on BET jazz is the 1958 Timex All-star jazz show, preforming are: Louis Armstrong and his all stars, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Jack Teagarden, Gene Krupa, and many many more. It also has my all time favorite piece of video, the only time Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie ever appeared on tv together (they do a trumpet/vocal duet with "Umbrella Man"). And at the end of the show everybody gets together to sing "When the saints go marching in" (and a drum call and answer with Gene Krupa & Zutty Singlton). I highly suggest watching it, I think its on at 11:00pm (check local listings). _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. While we're at it, I'll take the opportunity to go off on a tangent from a tangent and say that I recently discovered the alternative-ish band Polaris. Remember Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Pete and Pete? They played most of the music. They released a CD full of that crap on Mezzotint Records. http://www.mezzotint.com (don't expect much). - -Peter "no, I'm not making a nickel off that either" Destructo http://members.xoom.com/pdestructo/snz Squirrel Nut Zippers discography and catalog http://members.xoom.com/pdestructo/sg The Ghost Quasar: Space Ghost links, images, fanfic, icons What, no anvil? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Jun 1999 23:11:06 GMT From: kobyc@softhome.net (Peter Destructo!)
