If you haven't stumbled across RadioTime, it's a great Web site for looking up a certain radio show, and seeing what online stations are playing at what time. There is one-click listen on demand of archived shows for those shows that offer it. And if a show is on right now, you can click a button and listen. You can also search stations by genre. http://www.radiotime.com/ There are free tools on that site for some integration of the RadioTime database into Windows Media Center and Yahoo! Jukebox, though it doesn't seem to return the full results of the Web site. There is also PC software on that site called RedButton for US$29 that allows you to record shows to listen later. Regardless of input (Windows Media, RealMedia, or streaming MP3) you can record as MP3, WMA, or AAC. In other words, you can upload these recordings to your iPod or other MP3 player :) I haven't tried out RedButton, but there is a free 14 day trial. If you are a Mac user, there is software from a different company for recording with some similar functionality called Radioshift, US$32. I've been using this one for about a week. There are still some bugs (it has only been out a couple weeks), but I have other software from this company (RogueAmoeba) and they are great at aggressively dealing with software bugs and at introducing new feature updates at no cost to those who have purchased the software. Their demo version is also free, doesn't expire, but overlays static on the audio after 20 minutes unless you pay up. Record options are either to subscribe to programs using the schedule search (the database has around 50,000 program schedules) or scheduling an item yourself with record times and stream urls. Why mention this on the Lisa list? Two reasons: 1. I know there are some Morning Becomes Eclectic fans, for instance. The Morning Becomes Eclectic podcast omits much of the music because of record company licensing agreements, but record the show yourself off of the live stream, and you get the full show to listen to when you want to :) 2. I'm looking to add to my list of shows being recorded, and this list is quite international. With great musical tastes, too! Have a favorite show you listen to? What's the name of the show, and what station?
