[Juvenilia@aol.com] Re: sycophant Live in SF CD vine? [Windless Air Music Subject: sycophant Lisa's show last night I went and saw Lisa Germano perform last night in Hudson NY. What a great gig. It was in an old theater which has been renovated. Great atmosphere. The stage was elevated and there were tables in "the pit" and theater seating in the rear that rose up giving everyone a good view, along with a bar in the back. Smallish crowd I thought, but Lisa was happy with the turnout. The "Blood Group" from NYC opened up. I sat in the middle of the room, but soon moved when I realized there were a couple of women behind me who laughed and screeched loudly everytime Lisa said "fuck" or "masturbate". So I moved to a better vantage point and ended up with a nice table seat about 12 feet away from her. She was really good. She made jokes about her guitar playing being bad and how she had recently read on the internet that she had just gotten out of rehab, (which wasn't true). She alternated between playing piano and guitar, starting with some old classics and then performing the new album as a medley (sort of like the TVPs would do) and then taking "requests" from the crowd. She would joke and talk with the audience between songs. She played one of those old Danelectro "longhorn" guitars which has an awsome sound. After the show she hung around and I got to talk with her for awhile about various music things. Did anyone else from this e-list go? She's great. Go see her next time! - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
