Anyway, I didn't think the movie was that great (though it could be one of those movies that get better in retrospect). The people I was watching it with left before the Lisa Germano soundtrack stuff even came on--which was a pity. I would have liked to know what they thought. Interesting points: 1. Not only was "Cry Wolf" featured, but "Phantom Love" as well, shortly before it. 2. The movie was mostly langorously-staged, moody exposition, then finally some action in the last ten minutes. Interestingly, they saved Lisa's music for the beginning of the interesting part. I actually started liking the movie then. 3. Neil Finn is all over this thing...I guess that's how Lisa got involved. 4. Lisa got very tiny credits for her songs. I wouldn't have even been able to read her name if I didn't know it already. I'm reluctant to recommend this movie. It had good parts, but I don't know if they're worth sitting through all the boring parts for. Lisa fanatics may want to rent it just to reward them for giving Lisa a gig. - --Tom Lucas - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
