It's very nice. Has a dreamy, sleepy quality to it. Sometimes spooky and outer space sounding. Very personal in spots. Sometimes sparse and sometimes full. Probably not the best place for someone just getting into Lisa to start off with. 12 songs, with Neil Finn, Johnny Marr, Wendy Melvin and others contributing. Track 8 is called ""It's Party Time" but to me it really sounds like the track "Making Promises" that was making the rounds awhile back except with different lyrics and a less noticeable bass line. I think my favorite track (at the moment) would be "Candy". Has a carnival atmosphere to it. This a a very good CD and was worth the wait. My only complaint is that it is too short. Only 36:34 in length. Promo. I guess it doesn't hit the stores until April, although labels and radio stations seem to be getting the advance copies in quick readily. Joe Wiencis wrote: > I thought it wasn't out yet? Although I'm nearly convinced that "Paper Doll" is the greatest thing she's ever written. If she hadn't have written "Cry Wolf", it would be. > 12 songs, with Neil Finn, Johnny Marr, Wendy Melvin and others contributing. > Track 8 is called ""It's Party Time" but to me it really sounds like the track > "Making Promises" that was making the rounds awhile back. Not seen the cover art - I got a cover artless promo copy off a friend who reviewed it for a magazine he writes for and he gave it to my for my birthday. The release date on the back cover is listed as "January 2003"! I kinda miss the overall carnival atmosphere here, but the songs are beautiful. Although I think the live version of "Into The Night" that was circling around from a Neil Finn live webcast is better. I love "Liquid Pig" though! Its amazing! And "Lullaby for Liquid Pig" is beautiful too, so contrasted. and "...to dream" makes a nice (if sad) way to finish the album. More to say when everyone has it and I've listened to it more than three times. xo Dan ===== I want a table - no, just for one. But I know you do! I can see some from here! It totally rules my soul. I wasn't at all familiar with her music before seeing her live at Largo last year, and Lullaby is the first album I owned, and it got me hooked...so I think for some people (and by that I mean drunks like me!), it's a fine introduction to her work =) Could someone please list the titles in their proper order if you've got a moment? I just have the blank cd, with cover artwork that she said was just temporary, no titles. Just her handwriting on the cd: "Lisa Germano - Lullaby for Liquid Pig". And yes, I'm extremely proud to have it =) She's amazing. I've been performing a "cover" of the one that starts "In the wrong time, in the wrong place, in the wrong mind..." (I don't know titles!!) and "Lullaby" at my own shows lately =) Grace > > > I'm listening to the Lullaby for Liquid Pig CD right now. > > It's very nice. Has a > > dreamy, sleepy quality to it.
