No, in LA. I went to both shows; the first night I had pit tickets (third row center) and she was awful -- boring, didn't play anything really good, short encores, little connection with the audience. Second night I had sorta crummy seats (third tier, way over to the left), but it was a fantastic show and restored my faith in her as a performer (but I still think she needs to work on her persona because she is really IRRITATING in written interviews). And now, lest someone cry, "But this is the LISA GERMANO list," I have Lisa-related news. Our (the radio station's) magazine should be going to the printer by the end of this week so we can have it out by the time our new programming schedule has begun (such timing would be unprecedented in KUCI history), and our cover story is yup-you-guessed-it-Lisa-Germano. This magazine is free, and if you don't happen to be living in the southern part of Orange County and thus can't pick one up at your local coffee house or record store, send me your address and I will mail you one. It's about two thousand words (three pages or so), and also includes a partial discography, some promotional shots I got from her publicist, and some pictures I took when she played at the Roxy. The Sycophant list gets mention, too, because I put in some contact information (PO boxes, web pages, etc.). Anyay, like I said, if you want one give me your address and I'll mail you one. I'm promoting the hell out of it because it's the first issue I've actually been happy with since I started editing the thing. --Matt J PS We also have articles on Front 242 (if you're the Elektronik type) and The Need, plus a buncha random record reviews, from metal to hip-hop. - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Sep 1998 19:27:00 +0000 From: Erebus Subject: sycophant Lisa - Europe tour dates All the europeans on the list should have a look at 4ad's web site for the tour dates (all with the Eels).
