I just joined Lisa Germano mailing list and would like to express my gratitude to the people who are responsible for this list. Lisa's music/lyrics have really come as a pleasant delight to my existence and filled me with new spirit and feelings. I would also like to know her tour schedule - is there a Europe tour in sight (prefferably with a stopover in Iceland)? On The Way Down From The Moon Palace I have this address: Egg records, P.O. Box 30253, Indianapolis, IN 46320, USA. I checked if they have a telephone or a fax number registred, but the result was negative. So I suppose I will have to write to them - but I wa kind of hoping that there would be a faster way to contact them. Does anybody know if this record company still exists and if the record is at all available? 2. Falling from Grace. Songs w. Lisa G: 01 Buds' theme and 11 Little children (also Paul Mellencamp: 05 It don't scare me none and 10 Nothing's for free) According to CDNOW ( http://www.cdnow.com) this album is not available for sale. Anyone know where I can get this album? 3. Time & Love the music of Laura. Song with Lisa G: 07 Eli's coming According to CDNOW this album is not available for sale. Anyone know where I can get this album? I sure hope somone can help me, Vigfus Erlendsson, Iceland - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 09:55:24 -0400 From: Joe Wiencis Subject: RE: sycophant Some records hard to get I see copies of Moon Palace all the time. If you're really desperate I could probably grab you one for about $12.99 U.S. + postage I don't have any idea where you could find the other two but Falling From Grace only has two short instrumentals which aren't that great in my opinion. I know they have Moon Palace once in a while. I think their site doesn't accurately reflect their in-store stock. - - joe - > -----Original Message----- > From: Joe Wiencis [SMTP:jwiencis@phaseforward.com] > Sent: Thursday, August 13, 1998 9:55 AM > To: 'sycophant@smoe.org' > Subject: RE: sycophant Some records hard to get > > I see copies of Moon Palace all the time. I don't remember the address now, but someone had an address some time ago for a company which had it. (online). Is there a searchable archive for the list somewhere? Martin, who probably will have to buy Slide from cdnow, waiting for it until october to be released in Europe is out of the question. :/ - -- Martin Eggen (martineg@ifi.uio.no) http://www.stud.ifi.uio.no/~martineg/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 20:33:10 EDT From: StelthBear@aol.com Subject: Re: sycophant Some records hard to get For the benefit of Vigfus and others who are seeking... "On the Way Down from the Moon Palace" can be easily obtained directly from Egg Records by accessing their site at www.eggrecords.com. You can send your order via e-mail provided you have a Visa or Mastercard (I forget which cards they accept). E-mail them for other payment options. "Falling from Grace" is out of print but used copies aren't hard to find. As a previous poster said, Lisa performs two instrumental tracks (one of which is the title track from "Moon Palace" but renamed "Little Children" for the soundtrack), but she also plays fiddle and lends backing vocals to at least one Mellencamp song ("It Don't Scare Me None"). I'm not aware of the Laura Nyro tribute CD being out of print, so I have no information as such. I see new copies all the time here in San Francisco. Finally, a helpful hint: use the web when looking for used CDs. There is a terrific resource at www.gemm.com you can use to find what you're looking for. I've found many a treasure that way, although I recommend dealing directly with any vendors you find there, rather than go through the GEMM service.
