["Katie Brown" Subject: [support-system] count me in! I'm so excited about this show. I'm blowing off my Pearl Jam Garden ticket for the same night because I just don't wanna miss this one. It's been great to see so many familiar faces around the ol' support system lately. And I'm as excited as all about what's coming for Liz ... and us. paige- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 2008 12:16:55 -0400 (GMT-04:00) From: Meredith Robbins Subject: [support-system] JESUS CHRIST Y'ALL OK, so since I happened to be at my desk at noon today, I was on Ticketmaster like a duck on a junebug at PRECISELY 12 p.m. And were there any tickets available at 12:00:15? NO THERE WERE NOT. Seriously, I could cry. I feel like I'm 15 again, and not in the good way. The funny thing is, is that I was totally going to buy an extra ticket to offer to anyone who didn't happen to be in front of a computer at precisely 12 p.m. (LIKE I WAS). But now, ironically, I'm put in the pitiful position of begging anyone who managed to score an extra ticket to please, please consider selling it to me. I am desperate. To quote Bart Simpson, "You don't want to know how far I'll go." (By the way, do any of the really oldey old-timers remember the time I burst into tears while talking to the WHFS DJ to get tickets to see Liz at Just Passin' Thru in like 1996? This is totally just like that, only I'm not waiting for my dad to drive me to the orthodontist.) I called the Mercury Lounge (whose box office sells tickets for the Hiro Ballroom & a few other New York rock venues) at 12:18 to make sure that they were in fact the place to go to buy tickets (thereby avoiding the Ticketmaster surcharge), and I was all set to take the train downtown, grab a leisurely bite to eat, you know, no big deal... and the girl tells me, "Unfortunately, that show is already sold out." I'm like, "Huh?! How did THAT happen?" I'm pretty freakin' stunned. I mean, I know Exile in Guyville is ... Exile in Guyville, but still. This show was just announced TWO days ago on the internet. What the hell? I just checked eBay, and there's already several pairs of tickets going for $250... Good grief. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 2008 12:14:56 -0500 From: "Tyler Coates" Subject: Re: [support-system] JESUS CHRIST Y'ALL For curiosity's sake, how big is the Hiro Ballroom? I'm in Chicago, and I am hoping the show is in a fairly large venue. The last time she was in town she played at The Vic. I was able to get tickets for Thursday no problem. Tickets seem to be going muuuuuuuch slower for that one, so if you missed out on the Wednesday tickets, you might give that a shot. SO EXCITING! I hope this is an error and doesn't mean that it won't be included now. I don't know if this answers the question but I asked Brad about it since he is the one who did some of the mixing and mastering....and he said it was among the four songs that they did for the re-issue, he did say they did a different instrumental track than originally planned but he said that was about the only thing that deviated from the original reports.(I don't know if it got pulled by whoever owns the troggs copyright or if it is still on there. I don't think Brad has gotten a pre-release copy yet. ) robert ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 2008 14:31:33 -0400 From: Jase Subject: Re: [support-system] Re: JESUS CHRIST Y'ALL Meredith Robbins wrote: >Thanks to the totally amazing Trent Vanegas, who apparently is the world's >nimblest Blackberry user, I found out that the Hiro Ballroom added a >Thursday show! It looks like it's now sold out as well. I had decided since I can't get the time off work to go, I would just call in sick, but I guess that's a non-issue now. I imagine the Chicago tickets will sell out just as quickly when that show goes on sale, since it is Liz's hometown and all, but I'm still hoping I'll have better luck then... I'm hoping the list is called the (Support System) for more than the fact that it's a Liz song title. For months I have been excited about a long over due vacation. We leave tonite for a peaceful lake, way up in northern Minnisota, where planes rarely fly over. Now I'm in a panic because I fear the Chicago show will go on sale and I wont have anyway of getting tickets. I'll be out of civilization from the 22nd to the 29th. If someone could get me 2 tickets I'd owe you my life. If they haven't gone on sale by the time I get back, I'd gladdly get a couple of extras for someone in the same predicament. I'll be at the ticket window the minute they do go on sale. If you can help feel free to email me off list. Did anybody get tickets to either of the NYC shows? Also, where can I try to find out about the Chicago show, other than support system? Of course I will grab as many tickets as I can.
