This is all such great news! I'm really excited. And the timing on finding out about the 15 year anniversary of EIG and the re-release is especially amusing for me right now. I just saw The Lemonheads play "It's A Shame About Ray" - the significance to me being that EIG and Ray were two albums that had a huge and long lasting affect on me when I first started listening to them at age 15 - these albums helped me survive high school! And when I listen to them today, the music sounds just as fresh and inspiring as it did back then. ~Andrea S. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Apr 2008 04:18:57 -0400 From: "Mariam Hamou" Subject: [support-system] Re: support-system-digest V10 #28 Hi All, I'm also one of the originals on this list...maybe she'll go back to pleasing her original fanbase instead of the masses. We're the only ones who have really stuck in through with her because we saw the potential in her earliest work. Anyway, let's hope there is more of stuff like Jeremy Engle and 6 foot 1 and less like the newest album (which I didn't even buy because it sounded so overproduced). I'm so excited about the release...I too am so grown up (it's sad really) - married, having a baby and living in a house (not in suburbia thankfully). I remember listening to Fuck and Run during my first year university (has it really been 15 years??????) and falling in love with Liz. I feel like it's so "classic rock" in an attempt to relive my glory days. Oh well, we all need to indulge once in a while. SO EXCITED.
