Wow, what a well-timed blast from the past I'm having on this gloomy and stressful Tuesday morning! Thanks, universe. I don't know about you guys, but I'm friggin' stoked. I would guess this is the first time I've posted to the list in... five years? More? I'm guessing it was some time during my early college years, and I graduated in 2003, so y'all can do the math. I wanted to go back and find my very first post, back when this list was still called 6'1", but I can only find the archives back to 1998, when the list migrated and became Support System. Jase, do you remember when 6'1" started? I remember all sorts of drama that led to the initial split with whatever that other mailing list was, but I can't recall any of the details. Ah, misty watercolored memories... Anyway, I'm not 14 anymore -- I grew up and moved to New York and got a job and bought an apartment and stuff -- and it was really nice to experience a little frisson of my adolescence all over again. How exciting to have Liz do something that doesn't make me embarassed on her behalf! I had almost forgotten what that was like. I think the remaster sounds great: a little louder oncd, a bit warmer, but retains the spindly feel of the original issue. Themulti-tracks were found 5 years ago. We had them transferred fromanalog to digital 2 weeks ago, when the extra songs were discovered. There are more than the 4, but many of those are from the early Whip-smart sessions and don't qualify as EIG-era. Honestly, a lot of it is "work versions". There must be 6 versions of "Whip-smart", from EIG to mid-1994. 3 versions of "Nashville". None of these have vocals, just bare bones arrangement ideas. No vocals, lots of mistakes... Brad had no idea if they would do anything with this other stuff, said it would be up to liz's people......Brad confirmed that Henderson was interviewed, that Casey was contacted but he wasn't sure if he would be on the dvd, .......and dropped a little info i didn't know: the Kristie stevens girl that appeared on the inside cover art was actually dating brad at the time, hence why she was in the artwork...... 6 versions of Whipsmart? Three versions of Nashville? I think i may become light-headed..... robert ____________________________________________________________________________________ You rock. WHOA! My life, circa 1998-2000,?just flashed before my eyes! How dang long has it been since there's been REAL good news about Liz, much less EIGHT posts to the list in one day? EIG being reissued with all these goodies proves?there IS a God. (Honestly, I haven't paid much attention to Liz?since the?WCSE release excitement died down...?her last 2 releases don't count, IMHO.) Is there any hope of an EIG anniversary tour? Lor - --------------------------------- You rock.
