The third is less serious, a bit faster and fun. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Dec 2005 09:41:15 -0600 From: "sandra" Subject: [support-system] Re: Hello in Liz Land - Love Songs Anniversary Song, Cowboy Junkies Question, Old 97s In My Life, Beatles sandra ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Dec 2005 11:01:52 -0500 From: "M.C. I've always taken great delight in the fact that we had the Pixie's "Here Comes Your Man" at our wedding. :-) We also played "Divorce Song" (although we did edit out the "Fuck" so as not to offend my husband's 80-some-odd-year-old grandmother) just because we have odd senses of humor. I got married almost 7 years ago, but let me see what I remember. We had Suzanne Vega's "Gypsy" which has always been a favorite. We thought the line, "We strangers know each other now as part of the whole design" was appropriate. Our recessional was Heather Nova's "London Rain." Our song is DMB's "Lover Lay Down," so we had that. Some other ones that come to mind are "I'll Be Your Mirror" by Velvet Underground, Smashing Pumpkin's "In the Arms of Sleep," 10K Maniacs, "These Are Days" and "Trouble Me," oh and Liz "Beginning to See the Light" and "You Have No Idea." I can't for the life of me remember any of the other songs, at least not the love songs. I can tell you we played the theme to Josie and the Pussycats (the version Tanya Donelly and Juliana Hatfield did on "Saturday Morning Cartoon's Greatest Hits"). Not a love song, but that was my favorite cartoon as a kid, so I had to have it in there just for the hell of it. If we could have found the theme to the Muppet Show in time, that would have been played too. :-) - -Hyphen Writer, Activist, Certified Breastfeeding Educator, Air Force Wife, Mother of three.
