I was living in Chicago when Exile In Guyville came out -- and I loved that album and listened to it constantly. Listening now gives me flashbacks to that time. But somehow I stopped listening, and stopped following the newer albums. Now, years later, I suddenly can't get enough of Liz Phair, and find myself listening to her all the time again. That's why I'm looking for a copy of "Girlysounds." I just happened to come accross two songs from it, and badly want to listen to the rest. I'm not sure how I feel, however, about someone else profiting from this music -- and I'm worried that those who sell it on ebay are doing just that - -- but of course I am happy to pay whatever it costs in time, trouble, and materials to make a copy. Does anyone know the best way to come by a good copy? thanks! _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Foxx" Subject: [support-system] itunes "Everything to Me" is on iTunes. As one of the biggest dissenters of the self-titled album, I really don't think it's bad. It a little self-helpy, but she seems back in form. I think maybe the reason I was so disappointed by the self-titled album had a lot to do with Liz's songwriting simply being a little rusty from the lengthy break. In more exciting news (to me), FIONA APPLE'S NEW STUFF IS ON ITUNES! Or some of it. But... this means that they're releasing it, right? "Oh Sailor" is up as a single--which is simpler and more down-tempo than the rest of the album and doesn't suggest the astounding musical and lyrical growth shown on the full album, but it's probably a good choice as far as a single goes. The single is offered with a bonus track that isn't on the album--or the bootlegged one online anyway--called "Parting Gift". Everyone I know who's heard the album loves it to death, and I really think everyone's going to be talking about it when it finally gets released. And... yeah, exciting. - -Mark ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V8 #97 ***********************************
