Brian - i was just reading your post about the PR failure that was liz's self-titled album...i agree with you. as much as i did ENJOY the album, i didn't enjoy it the same way as I enjoy other liz albums, and that is a sad thing. i was thinking about the possible death of the list...the lack of interest...that maybe liz really has become disposable, a piece of bubble gum that i can chew up, choke on and barf out. THEN - the news for a new album. all of a sudden - i'm a little kid in a liz phair candy store again, going gah-gah over my favorite rock-n-roll gal. i hope she really delivers on this one. if she does - i'll LOVE the s/t album - love it as a concept album, liz's little dabble with pop. but i hope to god she utilizes her talent with this one, because it was over-shadowed and wasted the last time around. i really hope she drags out a few girlysounds too. maybe One Less Thing I Know It's Not Easy Sometimes a Dream and it'd be cool if Bars of the Bed (this song TERRFIES me, for real) and maybe a nice polished version of Tell Me You Like Me finally get a home. it's sort of a shame that she has so many fabulous songs that may just be left to die in a vault somewhere. oooh..could you imagine...a studio version of You Have No Idea...?? but... i'm most excited to hear some BRAND NEW gems... i have TOTAL faith in liz for this album. and - i'm SUPER excited that it has a summer release date. it HAS to be in the summer. i'm scheduling that day off, getting a ton of beer -and having a phair-a-thon in my backyard, just like last year. ps - if it rains, i'll murder someone. excited, dan also -any word on a producer or title??? that's probably jumping the gun. "People have got to defy the FCC. I've decided that I'm not going to care if radio won't play me." - - Liz Phair, 1993 "I'm totally trying to [get new fans]. It's a wall I really want to break through. I'd like to hear more radio people like me, you know?" - - Liz Phair, 2003 ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V8 #20 ***********************************
