Does anyone else still get a sunny warm feeling when she sings "I feel the sun coming out, I feel earth in my skin, I feel the sky above me like a full recovery?" (sorry if I got the lyrics wrong, it's 5am after a very long Mardi Gras celebration here in New Orleans and I don't have the energy to make sure I got 'em right). The only other album that is so grounded in the spring season is The Breeders Last Splash. EIG I associate more with the fall/winter, though. Maybe it's the production or all the Chicago references, but to me it's more of an inside snowy day type of record. WS I think is kind of split. Supervova, Support System, Go West all great songs to listen to with the windows down. But songs like Nashville, Shane, Alice Springs are songs to listen to while cuddling up in a warm blanket. Happy Belated Mardi Gras everyone! Time to repent! james Dan, Just read a really interesting interview with Tanya Donelly. Did you know Belly's Star was demo-ed almost in its entirely with the original line-up of the Breeders and was supposed to be their second album. Apparently the idea was that Kim and Tanya were going to take turns writing every other album. But then Tanya broke up with the Muses and while Kim was still with the Pixies she wanted a full-fledged band of her own, formed Belly and (with Kim's support) turned the demos into a Belly album. Ahhh! Wish I could find the interview now. I'll send it to you when I find it. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V8 #16 ***********************************
