The garage rock wave came and went, mostly due to the fact that they weren't the new "revolution in music," but rather uninspired bands with only one or two good songs. its not just you, and its not because you are getting older or have found a job. I am a 20 year old sophomore in college, and I have been experiencing the same withdrawls. the only music that I find myself purchasing is that released by bands that used to be popular in the 90s. another thing ive noticed is that critics are writing off good music as bad investments (ie - madonna's american life and courtney's latest album). it really is an awful time for music. - -mike ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Dec 2004 11:51:00 -0800 (PST) From: andrew Subject: [support-system] best albums of 2004: the lucky 13 for me, without a doubt, the best album of 2004 is loretta lynn - van lear rose. other albums i enjoyed this year (in no particular order): nellie mckay - get away from me nancy sinatra - s/t bjork - medulla morrissey - you are the quarry modest mouse - good news... snow patrol - final straw secret machines - now here is nowhere scissor sisters - s/t pj harvey - uh huh her franz ferdinand - s/t !!! - louden up now rilo kiley - more adventurous - --a __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
