In a nutshell: She rocked, was dressed slutty, stage fright is long long gone, played keyboards on "chopsticks," "Love/Hate" sounded good, "Flower" should retired regardless of the arrangement. I'm still not convinced by the garage band she has - they sound good on the "Liz Phair" songs, but the older stuff is very iffy. Instead of the Buddy Judge nuanced fine brush strokes, you get the Dino (is that his name?) power paint roller chords (not bad if you're Pete Townshend, but IMO doesn't fit Liz's older stuff). BTW, I haven't seen anyone mention this but Liz is doing a free show at the Apple Store on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago today (Saturday 3/13) at 2pm. http://www.apple.com/retail/northmichiganavenue/ cheers JZ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Mar 2004 12:27:54 -0800 (PST) From: SHERLY McLACHLAN Subject: [support-system] Chicago Show Hi All, Went to the show last night. I thought as a hole they sounded much better than the summer shows at The Metro. Liz looked great, her hair has gotten quite long. It was cool to hear Bionic Eyes live, and Love Hate. The Divorce Song was awesome!!! Chopstix was cool. I thought Johnny Feelgood souned horrible at the start. It was funny to look at the crowd and see the pain in the faces of the die hard fans when ever she did a new song. I was sitting next to some young girls who would sceam like it was The Beatles everytime she did a new song. They didn't know any of the old stuff. For who ever is interested in her wardrobe, she donned blue jeans (levi's I think) with bleach marks, yellow tennis shoes, and some type of black workout bra that had about 6" of elastic at the bottom. She made appoint of showing her body as much as possible. All in all I'm glad I went. She also seemed alittle more friendly towards the crowd, as compared to The Metro shows. Ok that's it!!! If anyone has extra tickets to The H.O.B. show Sunday I know some interested parties. Later Lor Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
