Despite the fact that she performed my three least favorite songs from the new album (Favorite, Love/Hate, and HWC) she was obviously having so much fun and happy to be on stage. I'd say she definitely played more old stuff than new...so maybe she's hearing some of you after all (although I think the set list was pretty similar to the SF show). She entered with her new rock star version of Flower (I prefer the old one) and during her encore performed a seemingly impromptu version of the Car's Just What I Needed that was fabulous (even though she forgot an entire verse!). I was disappointed that they used the cheeseball recorded back up vocals on Rock Me and Extraordinary...but the solo version of SOG more than made up for that disappointment...and I couldn't have been happier to hear Perfect World live (well, unless she had done Little Digger that is...which she didn't). Just before she performed Supernova she passed a pair of earplugs through the crowd back to a little girl who had been covering her ears. She then said, "I'll be able to sleep a little better tonight now." She's just so darn cute! I didn't write out a set list and my memory is shot due to lack of sleep so hopefully someone else can fill in the gaps. A friend > of mine's ex-boyfriend did the retouching and said it was Liz, NOT > capitol records, who was responsible for having herself airbrushed to > look like she was 20. He refered to her as being "quite the diva", and > supposedly it took a lot of work to make her look like that. He said it > was really time consuming considering he had to keep redoing the pictures > to her liking. I'm not sure how many of the www.lizphair.com/calendar pics are part of the promo set (some are, some aren't, I think), but I liked one of the former well enough to use as my PC wallpaper. This involved editing it at pixel level and I have to say that the basic work by the graphics artist was absolutely crap. If the guy who processed the calendar pic was also responsible for Liz's promo pics, I'm not surprised that she had problems getting them done to an acceptable standard.
