"take a page from the book of assholes," liz says. i don't know how to find it, because they've taken her off the cover by now, but if anyone is interested, i'm sure you can still read it if you poke around on the site. bmad Get better spam protection with Yahoo! Anyway... In regards to "Extraordinary", this is from Performing Songwriter magazine: "Extraordinary" is such a great opening track. I was surprised that it was not the first single "You and me both. There's a long story about that, which I'm not at liberty to go into. If there's a god in the world, it will become a single. It's the message I wanted to send out. I'll write these songs and later on I'll realize that they were sort of prefiguring the events of my life... There was this guy that I was interested in, and he was high-profile, and he has many high-profile women. It's that feeling where you feel you should connect with someone and they're not quite feeling the same way. The reason I want to talk about it is it's kind of funny to me; it kind of worked, like a little voodoo. I haven't completed the mission, but I think it's because it's not the first single." I don't think this song is about her fans at all. Now about her extremely airbrushed pictures from "Liz Phair", and various promo photos. A friend of mine's ex-boyfriend did the retouching and said it was Liz, NOT capitol records, who was responsible for having herself airbrushed to look like she was 20. He refered to her as being "quite the diva", and supposedly it took a lot of work to make her look like that. He said it was really time consuming considering he had to keep redoing the pictures to her liking. -daniel - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watch high-quality video with fast playback at MSN Video. It said something about folks downloading Norah Jones as a preview and then buying the album, which they aren't likely to do with "singles-driven" artists like Liz Phair (and some others who i don't remember because I was so caught off guard). There was a little pic of liz playing live at the bottom of the page. Her name was just thrown out there like it was the most obvious thing that people never actually BUY liz phair records because the only good songs are the singles! blah! steve ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V7 #46 ***********************************
