So Liz is to appear on the show as > Jackie DeShannon ... tho i don't recall what song she > is famous for singing ... > > actually, they're well into the '60s... the brother or the boyfried or whatever is over in viet nam..... i think the show started in "1962." it's a semi-cute show. the centerpiece is the girl who works as some sort of production assistant on "american bandstand." that part of the show is really pretty inspired if you ask me; the rest is boring. if i'm interested, i'll tune in to see the musical act and then go back to "60 minutes." all the people i've seen featured have risen to the occasion really well. jennifer love hewitt was a knockout as nancy sinatra ("these boots are made for walkin'") and lee ann rhimes was... oh, who was she? i forgot. hmmm.... oh: brenda lee, i think it was. see, they make the guest stars sing the songs they have to perform (no lip-synching!!--which i think is very cool) and i had NO IDEA lee ann could belt like that. no idea.... i was kinda blown away. i can't wait to see liz as jackie de shannon. it sounds pretty cool, actually. and she *does* look alot like her. jackie de shannon sang the classic "put a little love in your heart." she also did "needles and pins" and "what the world needs now." my money's on "put a little love in your heart"; it's still a rockin' tune, to this day. so, wow, i can't wait to see this now.... should be pretty good. sure beats "winter wonderland" (har!) oh--thanks for bringing up the new melissa auf der maur; that is one cool chick.... reviews are excellent; i can't wait to see this stateside.... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Feb 2004 23:01:49 -0800 From: "dana p." "take a page from the book of assholes," liz says. i don't know how to find it, because they've taken her off the cover by now, but if anyone is interested, i'm sure you can still read it if you poke around on the site. bmad Get better spam protection with Yahoo! I haven't spoken with her in awhile, but I got a voice message late last night saying that she works at House of Blues now and she was working the Liz show and I could hear supernova in the background. it was fabulous. i have never seen "living the american dream" (dumb name though), but jackie deshannon was a folk-pop star in the 60s. her big hit was "put a little love in your heart." but she is also known for penning the early 80s hit "bette davis eyes" I can TOTALLY see liz playing her. i wanna see her done up all 60s! steve ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Feb 2004 18:28:33 EST From: LilRussianGirl@aol.com Subject: [support-system] Real Player - help!
