I listened to it in the car on the way home thinking that Extraordinary just seems out of place. The whole CD is upbeat and light and dancy and although I love the Extraordinary song, it just doesn't fit the CD. These guys are gurus, why would they pick that song??? Truly - and I am sincere when I say no pun intended - HWC would have been a better choice. It would have much better fit the theme and mood of the CD. No, not because they are gay but because it is her most upbeat, dancey, happy, snap your fingers along to tune from the new CD. Plus, how ironic that she's talking about "best magazine advice" in the song and it would be on CD about guys who give great advice about stuff like that. So I am looking at the CD itself and it occurs to me that it appears to be put out by Capitol. Well, duh then. Perhaps neither Liz nor the guys had any say at all, right? It would make sense that whether the song fit or not if Capitol wanted to plug her one more place with her next "big" single, that would be a good choice. I just think that HWC, (heck, even WCI) would have been a better choice. The album is up, "lite" and bouncy and Extraordinary is so heavy and dark. What were they thinking??? Truly, I'm sure this was aimed at mainstream, and offensive to some or not, I think the song should have been HWC. I think that more "new fans" discovering her through this CD would have been inclined to check out the LP LP from HWC than Extraordinary will. Then I watch the DVD this morning and the guys are talking about their favorite music and Carson and one of the other guys blurts out about how much they LOVE Liz's new CD and how "it rocks -- the whole album." Interesting. I do like the album and am thinking that this will be a great new CD for me to listen to when I work out, but I am going to replace Extraordinary with HWC. Sorry Liz. Sorry Fab 5. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V7 #38 ***********************************
