From what I gather, there were no surprises in the set, although her tour manager said (in another, less informative article) that there would be new material worked into the set on this tour. http://newtimes.rway.com/2004/021104/music.shtml http://www.syracuse.com/entertainment/poststandard/index.ssf?/base/entertainment-1/1074764191246380.xml So she's claiming that the photos for 'Liz Phair' were a way for her to present her sexuality in a controlled way, because she didn't have that opportunity earlier in her career, when everyone was trying to dress her up as a slut or something. Geez, I thought the whole concept of the EIG artwork -- which she came up with herself -- was about subverting the time-honored tradition of manipulating women from behind a camera. (It really was! there's an article where she explains it.) And apparently she's forgotten that she already admitted to a journalist last summer that she would rather not talk about the photos for 'Liz Phair' because she didn't have anything to do with them! And that Andy Slater came up with the image. And that we already knew that Robin Tunney was going to be on the cover of the album! And that she couldn't have really had much 'control' in the studio if she didn't win the fight to keep her own guitar tracks in the mix. Oh, Liz. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
