I'd better give my copy back then ;-) I've already said I think my daughter is way too young (8) for some of Liz's material. However, I'm kind of hoping she'll have "borrowed" my copy of EIG by the time she is 13. Though I'm also wondering what age she'll be before she really "gets it". Of course, when I find my copy of "Broken English" in her deck, I'll know it's time to stop worrying about her listening to Liz. I think this is why she's appearing on some upcoming shows to promote the new single. Subject: [support-system] me sing pretty one day hey all: i just read this article in the NYTimes about Vocaloid software, which allows the user to create a very real-sounding human voice to sing pretty much anything they want. it's intriguing and scary at the same time. here's a very telling quote from the article, featuring the dreaded Matrix: Hit music producers like Dan (The Automator) Takemura (a creator of the Gorillaz, a band that appeared only in an animated form, but sold several million albums anyway) and the Matrix (the trio of Scott Spock, Graham Edwards and his wife, Lauren Christy, that produced the three No. 1 hits from Avril Lavigne's last album) say they are likely at least to try recording with Vocaloid instead of backup singers. "As producers, you run into some artists and oh god, it's so hard to get the right vocal," Mr. Spock said. "It's intriguing, this idea of `O.K., just give me all your vowels and all your consonants and I'll see you later.' " Discuss. here's the link in case anyone wants to read the whole thing: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/11/23/arts/music/23WERD.html?pagewanted=2&th laters, D ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V6 #311 ************************************
