Mostly on mute. Talk about a mass convening of no-talents. I seriously wondered how many people there a) know how to read music b) can play an instrument or c) have written a song before. My estimate is about 10% in each catagory. Anyway, Liz presented an alternative adult something award with the chick from Bend it Like Beckam who is now on ER. It was funny when they walked out- you could hear a confused applause, like, "Who are these people again?" It was very awkward. That girl asked Liz something like, "How do you catagorize your music?" and she replied, "I don't, I just rock it!" OOOOh how clever! You show 'em Liz! You DEFY catagorization! She looked really weird too. Like old and sunken in and kind of anorexic. Her hair looked bad too. Sorry to rail on her so much, but the whole thing reminded me of the mom who buys her kids beer so she can crash their party and hang out and flirt with teenage boys. Ew. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! I didn't even hear about this until late last night when my friend called me and told me that Liz AND that Indian girl were presenting together. It was a really weird pairing, obviously for me. Someone knows how much I love both of them. Those were two of the most intensely funny (and unintentionally so!) hours of network TV I've ever seen. From the opening fire dance from Beyonce, to Avril Lavigne's moving cover of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", to Michael Jackson's completely bizarre (and, if you ask me, cracked-out) monitor-reading and "What More Can I Give" making-of video... I was guffawing the entire time! I wish I'd recorded it -- it was that good. Liz definitely seemed out of place, and probably felt it, too. But, Liz being Liz, she probably considered it a high honor to mingle with such reputable pop acts. Oh! And the Jewel song, about "hookers and hash"? I swear, these people have NO idea how funny they are. I implore the rest of you who caught this broadcast to open your cultured mouths and comment on this shit. Cheers, Emil "I have to thank god, first and fo'most" Breton __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
