Just got back from seeing him at Stubbs in Austin. Amazing. He did two encores, and the second was totally unplanned. It was just an awesome show, I got his handwritten encore setlist, yay me. Oh, and I have about a million hi-res pics of Liz at the ACL festival, and some digital video. I met her again, brought her more cotton candy, and she remembered my name from the Dallas show! I made sure to write it in big letters on the container before. I was standing dead center in the very front for the show, so my pictures are pretty nice. She threw a single guitar pic, and guess who got it? Yours truly. So, I had her sign it for me later at the signing thingy. And I brought along my Guyville poster, she said she didn't even remember that, and couldn't believe I had it. I wonder how much I could get for that on eBay... Haha, not that I'd sell it. That sucks, but that's funny! I have bad Liz luck too. The one and only time I had planned to see her, August 17 in Boston, I had to fly home to CA because my dad was having surgery. - -Stephanie ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 Oct 2003 13:58:56 -0400 From: "Daaaaan Theman" Subject: [support-system] "whip smart" question I was thinking today as I was on the train listening to "Guyville", about how great of an album title that was, and how her other ones have been cop outs, usually naming the album after a song or not even titling it at all. But then I got to thinking of her scrapped titles, and how they were normally worse than what she actually went with. The reason I'm posting this is because I forget what she was going to call "whip-smart". Wasn't it something horrible like "feed the buddha"? Anyone know the answer to this? It's been bugging me all day. And also, has anyone else wondered why the fuck Liz is not taking her November tour to NYC?! How stupid is that? It's only the best city in the country. That makes me mad. I can understand her not playing Omaha, Nebraska; but New York City? It's just kind of absurd, her Bowery show was so good, and she kept saying how happy she was to be playing there. Sorry for the rant, and no offense to anyone living in Omaha. -dan ps: courtney love was arrested for attempting to break into someone's house, and then od'd. The 'Feed the Buddha' thing appeared in the What's Up Matador compilation liner notes, and I'm pretty sure it was a joke. Matador-style. Emil __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
