She just played "Why Can't I" and then hugged Ellen afterwards. Ellen introduced her by saying something like "her first CD was really good, now she has a new CD, you should buy anything she does, here's Liz Phair," which I found sort of odd because the avoidance of her opinion of the new CD was rather obvious but she was very enthusiastic about the buying everything part. Anyhow, Liz seemed to have an off day to me. First of all I didn't understand her hair- it looked very fluffy and feathery and Farrah Fawcett (sp??) from the 70s looking. The performance seemed uninspired and boring for what I know Liz can do. I know Liz doesn't move a lot when she's performing but she didn't really move at all as far as I remember. Perhaps my judgment is colored since this is the first TV appearance I've seen since I caught her live in Minneapolis a while ago- which totally rocked, and my general lack of enthusiasm for WCI. I remember her performance on Leno a while ago being much more interesting. On Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at 12:26 PM, LilRussianGirl@aol.com wrote: > Did anyone see Ellen? You should read Eric's comments on his involvement on the > Hole message board, he, like Everett True, appears to loathe him...all his > comments are quite amusing, worth a read! yeah, i think you're right on the corgan / celebrity skin thing; i was just talking without the fact-checking... just coincidentally, i was looking at the cd jacket the other day and saw that he didn't have a production credit. and i know everybody hates him. but, frankly, if i was making a record, i'd rather have him helping out than eric erlandson, or the matrix, and i still think it would be intriguing to see how he would re-mix "L\P". as for the melissa album, that's good news. i think she was also involved with the virgins, with evan dando, but i don't know of any material that ever emerged from that, despite the encouraging news in 2001: >>November 15th 2001: Virgins Get To Work This story comes from MTV News: "Former members of the Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Whiskeytown and the Lemonheads have formed a new rock supergroup of sorts called the Virgins. Ex-Lemonheads singer Evan Dando, ex-Whiskeytown singer Ryan Adams, ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and ex-Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur are scheduled to record an album together this winter, according to a spokesperson for Iha at his label, Scratchie Records. The Virgins, the brainchild of Adams and Auf Der Maur, will record at Stratosphere Sound, the new Manhattan recording studio owned by Iha. The spokesperson for Iha said it was too early to say if the Virgins will tour behind their album."<< ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Oct 2003 09:41:42 EDT From: BobDsn@aol.com Subject: [support-system] Re: support-system-digest V6 #263 Hi Catherine: That Jimmy Page riff at the end of "Jealousy" is from Led Zep's "When the Levee Breaks" -- one of my all-time favorite LZ tracks! - -Bob K In a message dated 10/1/03 1:16:18 AM, owner-support-system-digest@smoe.org writes: >Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2003 20:29:05 -0400 >From: Catherine Molanphy >Subject: [support-system] LedZep 1V? > >> From: "Mark J.
